Ne-Yo Reveals How Quarantine Influenced His Marriage Amid Divorce Rumors

Singer Ne-Yo is shutting down divorce rumours as he reveals the quarantine was a blessing to his marriage to wife Crystal Smith, saying it made them stronger.

Ne-Yo had marital upheavals for some time, and at a point, it seems his marriage was nearing its end. However, a turn around occurred after the R&B star and his wife, Crystal Smith, quarantined together.

clip of his chat with the hosts of "The Talk" showed Ne-Yo referring to the quarantine as a "blessing" despite feeling sad for those who lost loved ones to COVID-19.

Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith met in 2014 when he was planning a new music video. Smith was to star in the video, but after they got talking, sparks flew, and that was the beginning of a sweet romance.

The "Miss Independent" crooner shared that he and Smith were on the verge of commencing their divorce process before the pandemic. He said during the interview:

"...The quarantine kind of forced us to sit still [and] block out the noise from the world… we tend to let the world's opinion mean more in certain situations…"

The singer explained further that he and his wife "sat down" to hash out their differences and have some "painfully, brutally honest" discussions. BET shares that the award-winning musician was once on the '"Private" podcast, where he stated that he and Crystal Smith filed for divorce.

At the time, Ne-Yo mentioned that Smith was the mother of his kids, and they would remain "families forever." However, they had differences and "personal demons" they needed to deal with separately, hence the need for a divorce.

Blast shares that things seem to be rosy in Ne-Yo's household, following their resolution as the two have been displaying "couple goals" on Tik Tok. Also, Crystal Smith seems to have a cordial relationship with her husband's ex, Monyetta Shaw. The duo was once on Instagram live, where they discussed co-parenting.
