'Top Gun: Maverick' Actor Tom Skerritt Is 86 Years Old Now and Looks Unrecognizable
Tom Skerritt will come back as Viper in "Top Gun: Maverick," due out December 23. The 86-year-old actor shared a photo of himself on social media, and he looks different.
In his Twitter post on May 14, 2020, Skerritt looks unrecognizable, though he is still a ruggedly handsome leading man and supporting actor.
"Apparently it's #TopGunDay today. These aviator glasses are proof," he captioned the post. "Please enjoy the new 4K edition, my friends."

AN ACCLAIMED ACTOR
Skerritt started his acting career in 1962 and is still active today. He has appeared in over 40 movies and in excess of 200 TV episodes.
He is popular for his movie roles in "M*A*S*H," "A River Runs Through It," "Alien," "The Dead Zone," "Top Gun," "Up in Smoke," and the hit television series "Picket Fences." For his spectacular performances, he has received several nominations and awards.
As reported by Closer Weekly, Skerritt is caught up with working at his film company, Triple Squirrels, when he is not in front of the camera.
STILL BUSY WITH HIS CAREER
The acclaimed actor started the company with his wife, Julie Tokashiki, whom he married in 1998. Skerritt was previously married to Charlotte Shanks and Sue Oran.
In an interview with Closer Weekly, Skerritt shared that he is occupied with things he has not permitted himself to do before.

HIS UPCOMING SHOW
Talking about his upcoming show, "Top Gun: Maverick," he said that they approached him to come down for a funeral scene for one of the "Top Gun" folks.
However, he added, they did not impart the script to anyone, so no one comprehends what the story will be. "So I'm curious!" he continued. "I had one good day with Tom [Cruise] and that was about it."
When asked about his favorite role, he said that playing the reverend on "A River Runs Through It" moves him the most.

During the interview, Skerritt also opened up about his current wife, Tokashiki. According to him, Tokashiki was an executive at Fox and that they initially met while he was doing his series "Picket Fences" there.
Skerritt described his wife as "strong," "lovable," and a "great piece of art." He said that he looks at her with a great deal of respect.
The actor also said that he does not know what "retire" means, adding that "your life changes, and you try to fill it up as much as you possibly can."
Skerritt was born Thomas Roy Skerritt on August 25, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, as stated on his IMDb profile. He studied at Wayne State University and UCLA.
The actor made his film debut in "War Hunt," which was released in 1962. However, he spent most of the next decade in several television shows, including "Combat!" (1962), "The Virginian" (1962)," "Gunsmoke" (1955), and "12 O'Clock High" (1964).
