Larry Riley has revealed the story behind how NBA star, Steph Curry, and his wife, Ayesha Curry, chose to name their eldest daughter Riley.

In a recent episode of "Bonta, Steiny & Guru" podcast show, Larry was asked if it is true that Curry chose to name his first child, Riley, after him.

Giving a response, Larry told a story that had never been shared with the public. According to him, Steph had walked into his office one day and informed him that he and his wife were expecting a baby girl.

Larry added that Steph had told him they were looking at names for the baby and asked how he would feel if their baby girl was named Riley. While describing how he felt at the moment Steph asked him, Larry said:

Larry continued by adding that it would have been stupid of him not to give his consent because he believes Steph would have named his daughter Riley regardless.

Riley was born Riley Elizabeth Curry on July 19, 2012, and over the years, the little girl has become popular for making appearances with her famous daddy.

Stephen and Ayesha tied the knot in 2011, and apart from Riley, the couple shares two younger sons, Jack and Ryan.

Riley first captured the hearts of many after she joined her father at the podium during the 2015 NBA playoffs. While recalling the moment last year, Steph reportedly revealed that he regretted putting her in the spotlight back then.

According to him, he had wanted to share his experiences with his family but had not intended to make his daughter a star at such an early age.

He continued by adding that his ultimate goal was to give his children a normal life so they would never feel entitled to getting special treatment from people.

Despite his regrets, Riley and her dad seem to have an unbreakable bond and have continued to make public appearances together over the years.

Last December, the father-daughter duo were at a Golden State Warriors' game where they were seen having a special bonding moment as they shared a charming handshake before Riley kissed her dad on his cheeks.

In addition to spending time with her father at basketball games, Riley also enjoys expensive treats from her parents, with the most recent being a vacation to Paris for her seventh birthday last year.
