'Days of Our Lives' Star Peter Reckell's Dad Dies at 92 – the Actor Breaks His Silence
Actor Peter Reckell of "Days of Our Lives" fame has broken his silence on the death of his father, Russ Reckell, who died on June 27, at the age of 92.
Peter Reckell took to his Twitter page to finally speak about the death of his father, Russ Reckell, who died on June 27. The actor in an emotional tweet wrote:
"Thanks for all your condolences. My father passed with his loving family around him at the age of 92."

Reckell further said that his father rose from his poor upbringing to bring up his six children to be successful. The actor's post came two days after his wife, Kelly Moneymaker tweeted about Russ Reckell's death, writing:
"@PeterReckell's dad, Russ Reckell, departed peacefully & surrounded by love on June 27, 2020. Peter traveled back to MI to say his final goodbye."
Accompanying Kelly's tweet was a picture of Reckell and his late father that showed them posing in front of Thunder Bay Inn when they took a snow-machine trip together.

In another tweet, Reckell shared details about his late father's final moments, revealing that Russ Reckell's only regret was that he could not do more for the homeless people dying because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He left the show after Brady died in the arms of his wife on the series, Hope Williams Brady.
Many friends and fans of Peter Reckell condoled with him over his father's death, by posting messages of love and support in reply to his tweets. There is no information regarding the cause of his death at this time.
Russ Reckell's death adds to the number of stars that have died in the year 2020. Though they are no more, these celebrities continue to live in the hearts and minds of their fans and loved ones.
