Erin Krakow Reveals New Rules and Protocols on 'When Calls the Heart' Set as They Begin Filming Season 8

Erin Krakow has revealed that there will be new protective rules during the production of the upcoming season eight of "When Calls The Heart," which resumes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Actress Erin Krakow has opened up about the upcoming eight season of "When Calls the Heart," which resumes production amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

While speaking to ET, Krakow revealed that she missed doing what she loves while also adding that she missed the show's cast and crew.

However, Krakow stated that production would resume with new rules and protocols against the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to her, they would continue to wear protective marks and work in pods, which would help limit interaction to the bare minimum. She said:

"We're aiming to film scenes outdoors as much as possible. And yes, masks for everyone but the actors in scenes."

Ultimately, Krakow stated her excitement to be back to work but added that the reason they've resumed production was due to the safety guidelines that were put in place.

She continued by encouraging everyone to continue wearing protective masks while also explaining the need to keep practicing social distancing.

Based on Janette Oke's book series, "When Calls The Heart" is a perfect mix of drama, romance, and adventure.

The season 7 finale of "When Calls the Heart" aired in April, and before the episode was released, fans were curious to know if the show would return for another season.

However, right after the end of the season 7 finale, Krakow, who plays the role of "Elizabeth Thornton," shared the good news with fans. She said:

"From my heart and home to yours, I'm thrilled to announce the all-new season 8 of When Calls the Heart is coming next year."

Through its seven seasons, "When Calls The Heart" has seen a long list of drama, including Daniel Lissing and Lori Loughlin's exits. In 2019, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were charged to a court after they were accused of paying bribes to ensure their children were admitted to elite colleges.

In May 2020, Loughlin and Mossimo pleaded guilty to the charges and were sentenced to serve two months and five months in prison, respectively.

Amid all of the drama, though, Krakow remained loved by fans of "When Calls The Heart," and in return, the actress has maintained a close bond with her fans on social media.
