Naya Rivera's Family — Quick Facts about Her Parents and Siblings
"Glee" star Naya Rivera is half Puerto Rican, one quarter African American, and one quarter German. That's just one of the interesting facts about her family background.
The actress is the daughter of former model Yolanda and George Rivera. Her younger brother is NFL tight end, Mychal Rivera. Her younger sister, on the other hand, is runway model Nickayla Rivera.
In February 2020, Rivera shared a passionate note for her beloved mother on her birthday. As reported by Heavy, she called Yolanda the "Epitome of Beauty" and "Pinnacle of Grace."
THANKFUL TO HER HOM
"You are the center of the universe, a true spartan who blesses everyone you cross paths with," the actress said. "I love and admire you with all my heart and with every new year around the sun, I am grateful for you."
In an interview, Rivera shared that her mom once made her join a choir. However, she chose to stop because she did not like it.
At the point when she was around six years of age, Yolanda got her into acting. Rivera said that she never thought of doing anything else after that.
On Father's Day, Rivera paid tribute to her dad George. She called him "awesome, funny, smart, talented."
ATHLETE IN THE FAMILY
Meanwhile, her brother Mychal revealed in an interview that some of Rivera's fans trickled down to him as the athlete in the family. Mychal consented to an agreement with the Jaguars in 2017.
AN ACCLAIMED MODEL
Rivera has been very supportive of him. Of course, the actress also supported her younger sister Nickayla, who is signed with modeling and talent agency Wilhelmina.
Alongside her mother, Rivera introduced Nickayla to modeling at 15 years old. In 2013, Nickayla took to the runway during the New York Fashion Week, as reported by Daily Mail. Nickayla's preferred activities are dancing, shopping, listening to music, and reading.
As indicated by her IMDb profile, Rivera tied the knot with actor Ryan Dorsey in July 2014. The former couple welcomed their son Josey Dorsey in September 2015. In June 2018, Rivera and Dorsey finalized their divorce.
Rivera was presumed dead when Josey was found abandoned alone on a rented boat in Lake Piru in California on July 8, 2020, as reported by The Cinemaholic.
The actress was reportedly swimming with her son. Unfortunately, only the little boy made it back to the boat. Her body has still not been discovered. The authorities are proceeding with the search operation.
