See How Maroon 5 Member PJ Morton Honored the Late Nipsey Hussle in His New 'Buy Back the Block' Music Video
PJ Morton's new music video, "Buy Back the Block" paid tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle by flashing a quote from the rapper.
Maroon 5's keyboardist, PJ Morton, recently came out with a new music video that honored the late rapper, Nipsey Hussle, and his legacy.
His "Buy Back the Block" video flashed wise words from Hussle and featured how he invested in his community by donating to residents of the area.

DEDICATED TO HUSSLE
According to Morton, the rapper's actions towards his community "really touched" him. The keyboardist wanted to continue Hussle's legacy by sharing the message of investing in the community. Hussle once said:
"I just believe in ownership. I believe in investing in yourself. Your foundation should be strong."
Morton also paid tribute to his father in the opening sequence of the video as he read words that his father told him as a young child - "understand the value of the black dollar."
HUSSLE'S DEATH
The "Double Up" artist passed away in 2019, after falling victim to a shootout in Los Angeles where two people were injured as well.
A group of fans also began a book club in his memory, "Marathon Book Club," which is an avenue for colored men to discuss the books the artist read.
Hussle left a legacy not just through his music but also through his record label, All Money In, which launched with the release of "The Marathon."

HUSSLE'S CAREER
The Grammy-nominated artist was successful in his field and collaborated with some of the greatest men in the industry, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, YG, and Young Thug.
He also had several businesses outside music including the first smart clothing store, Marathon Clothing, SC Commercial Ventures, Proud 2 Pay, and All Money In No Money Out Records.
However, his most important and impactful legacy remains to be his message to his audience, focusing on love for the community.

REMEMBERING HUSSLE
Many fans and organizations paid tribute to Hussle and his contributions to LA since his death, including murals and sweet messages.
A group of fans also began a book club in his memory, "Marathon Book Club," which is an avenue for colored men to discuss the books the artist read.

Hussle, whose birth name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom, is survived by his girlfriend, Lauren London, and his kids, Emani and Kross.
