Mama June Is Hardly Recognizable as She Debuts Blonde Haircut in a New Photo

Mama June, the "From Not To Hot" star who used to wear her hair long and straight, has now flaunted a new do on Instagram. Covering her face with a sequined protective face mask, she looked quite different.

Dismissing, perhaps, an idea that she could have planned this brand chic hairstyle sometime ago, she explained:

“So on an impulse I decided to cut my hair.”

JUNE'S MAKEOVER ELICITS RESPONSES FROM HER FANS

It wasn't a surprise when some of her Instagram supporters responded to June's latest photo showing her stylish short blond haircut. Sending her red love emojis, they assured her that they were in love with her impressive hairstyle.

Earlier, in another Instagram picture, June had hinted at a comprehensive makeover while spotlighting her recent commitment to living sober with the hashtags #soberlife and #need2bpampered.

In a June episode of "Mama June: Family Crisis," where the reality star met with her daughter, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, the latter was shocked at her mom's unkempt appearance. As such, June's curled bob is most likely a welcome development.

A TROUBLED PAST STILL LURKING IN HER SHADOWS

The reality TV star has a past that she wants to forget quickly. With her boyfriend Eugene Edward "Geno" Doak, she was in hot soup with law enforcement agents on the allegations of cocaine use.

Per People, June was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after allegedly being caught with crack cocaine and a crack pipe sometime in March last year.

Doak, who Pumpkin suspects of being violent toward June, also found himself on the wrong side of the law. He was apprehended for similar allegations, including third-degree domestic violence and crimes for drug possession in September last year.

THE ROAD TO RECOVERY FROM SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Appearing on the finale of "Mama June: Family Crisis", June spilled the beans about how she was down in the gutter and financially broke. As a result of drug abuse, she ended up selling her house to her daughter's chagrin.

As reported in Hollywood Life, she blew $2,500 on meth per day and squandered $150,000 on cocaine within months. Forced by their penniless state, she and her boyfriend ended up staying in motels.

Around June this year, she eventually agreed to seek help from Dr. Ish and meet her daughter, Pumpkin, face to face despite their strained relationship.

On that particular day, shedding tears as she saw Pumpkin, June admitted that she had made mistakes, and it was high time she turned over a new leaf.

Although she had told her daughter that she hadn't been using drugs for a while, Dr.Ish tested her and found her positive. A subsequent lab drug test, however, turned out negative. After making a new resolution, June promised to go to rehab, stay sober, and get on the right track with her health.

Florida then became the new home for June and Doak for 30 days at a rehab facility. With one major aim in mind, she wanted to destroy the troublesome personality in her.
