Mary J. Blige is the epitome of confidence and beauty in new promotional photos for the upcoming spinoff of “Power,” “Power Book II: Ghost.”

Mary J. Blige is taking the acting world by storm and her latest Instagram post is proof of that. Yesterday, the renowned singer took her page to share new promotional photos from her upcoming television show, “Power Book II: Ghost.”

Channeling the boss that she is, Blige looked stunning clad in a black leather ensemble in the slide as she held a fat wad of cash while the rest sat on the table in front of her.

During an appearance at the TCA Panel with 50 Cent and Kemp, [Mary J. Blige] revealed that she has been a fan of the show “since the very beginning.”

She finished off the powerful look with a wine straight, long weave, and stared fiercely at the camera. The other slides showed a poster that featured other stars of the series and another of Blige sitting on a chair with a drink in front of her.

The photo she captioned “I GOT NEXT” received thousands of likes from fans and celebrities, including Taraji P. Henson.

According to NME, the “Family Affair” crooner will take a central role starring as Monet in the “Power” spinoff. The original series focused on the story of a drug dealer named Ghost (Omari Hardwick) who wanted to leave the life of crime and open a club.

According to the showrunner Courtney A. Kemp, Blige’s character exhibits power and that was why the singer was chosen for the role. In her words:

“We use all the power and presence of the actress to communicate how this is a woman who is remarkable and unique in her abilities.”

She noted that Blige’s character takes after Ghost’s footsteps as she is just as “smart, savvy, and strategic.” Complex reports that Blige isn’t the only new addition to the series as rapper Method Man is part of the cast.

Speaking about the new characters, executive producer 50 Cent revealed that fans would be more than excited to meet all the new stars.

However, Kemp maintains that although the spinoff will be different, it will have the same elements of “criminality, sex, romance, and the legal system,” that was present in the original.

According to CheatSheet, the singer is more than perfect for her upcoming role as she is a die-hard fan of the series. During an appearance at the TCA Panel with 50 Cent and Kemp, the singer revealed that she has been a fan of the show “since the very beginning.”

The Starz network show isn’t the only new project for Blige as Rap Up reports that there is a Mary J. Blige documentary currently in the works. The biopic, which is directed by Vanessa Roth, will be produced by Amazon Studios and Entertainment One with both Blige and Sean “Diddy” Combs serving as executive producers.

The movie will focus on Blige’s journey to fame, including her struggle with poverty, abuse, and addiction. It will also detail her love life scandals and a tour where she will perform her sophomore album.

“Power Book II: Ghost” premieres on September 6 on Starz, and we sure can’t wait to see Mary J. Blige in action.
