Kelly Clarkson to Fill in for Simon Cowell on AGT While He Recovers – Details of Her Guesting

On Monday, country musician Kelly Clarkson revealed that she would be taking over Simon Cowell’s spot on “America’s Got Talent (AGT)” while he recovers from his injuries.

Cowell was hospitalized over the weekend after he fell and hurt his back while trying to ride an electric bicycle. The incident occurred at the courtyard of his Malibu home.

Clarkson, the host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” took to social media to reveal that she would be filling in for Cowell. She would be sitting in his spot for the first live episodes of AGT’s season 15.

KELLY WILL GUEST JUDGE AGT

“The Voice” judge confirmed her spot in a hilarious memo. In the post, she noted how her "friend, Simon Cowell" was still in recovery from his injuries.

She added how NBC had decided to get someone who was "far wiser, cooler and hotter” to fill his spot, and went on to name herself. Clarkson jokingly called herself “unbelievably amazing.”

CELEBRATING HER APPOINTMENT

She concluded her message writing: "You're welcome in advance!" The episodes will air on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 EDT/PDT, according to NBC.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE LIVE SHOWS

Tuesday's episode will feature the first 11 of the 44 remaining acts. Five acts will then advance to Wednesday’s episode based on viewer votes.

HOW COWELL INJURED HIMSELF

Cowell actually broke his back in several places on Saturday and needed to undergo a five-hour surgery. A source also shared: "He has had to have a number of fusions and metal rod put into his back.”

SIMON’S ADVICE TO HIS FANS

On Sunday morning, his spokesperson Ann-Marie Thomson confirmed that he was doing fine. AGT’s executive producer took to social media after the incident and advised people to “read the manual” first before trying to ride an electric trail bike for the first time.

WHO KELLY WILL JUDGE WITH

In another post, he thanked the doctors and nurses who attended to his injuries. He called them “Some of the nicest people I have ever met” before warning his fans to remain safe.

Clarkson will be a guest judge alongside Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.
