ET Online: Simon Cowell Spoke about Riding Bikes around the AGT Set with Fellow Judges One Day before Accident
On Saturday, “America’s Got Talent (AGT)” judge Simon Cowell injured himself while trying out an electric bike. However, the day before the accident, Cowell actually spoke about the possibility of his AGT team riding on bikes.
Last Friday, Cowell, 60, fellow judge Sofia Vergara, and AGT’S host Terry Crews were interviewed by “Entertainment Tonight.” That happened to be one day before Cowell’s accident.
During the interview, AGT’s executive producer spoke about his excitement at going back to filming live telecasts. He confessed that he was skeptical about the show returning due to the many rules surrounding filming during the novel coronavirus disease.

THE ALL-NEW AGT
Cowell confessed that the show would “look different than any other previous year.” He revealed that it would be “big,” “unpredictable,” and “entertaining.”
The star added: “I like that thrill of being on a roller coaster when you're like, this is gonna have its ups and downs but I don't know what's coming. I love that." As if he was having a premonition, the AGT judge also shared:
"We are going to be in golf carts, motorbikes and probably God knows what else.”
SIMON’S INJURY
The golf carts and motorbikes would be used to ride around the Universal Studios set in Universal City, California. On Saturday, the star was testing out an electronic bike at his Malibu home when he fell and injured his back.
He spoke about riding motorbikes and the next thing you know his back is broken the next day.
GOING FOR SURGERY
He had to undergo five hours of surgery and needed to stay at the hospital afterward. Cowell also had fusions and a metal rod was inserted in his back.
HOW COWELL IS DOING
His representative shared that he was “doing fine, he's under observation and is in the best possible hands." The judge’s injury means he won’t be taking part in Tuesday and Wednesday's live telecasts as he continues his recovery from surgery.
STILL TAKING IT EASY
Another insider noted how Cowell was already “on his feet and walking around again as much as he can.” The source also revealed how the star was “taking it easy but doing well.”
The executive producer was said to be back at work via his iPad.
