Tom Hanks' Biracial Granddaughter Is All Smiles Perched on Her Father's Shoulders during a Walk

The “Empire” star and former rapper has left his troubled years behind and has grown to be a devoted father to his 4-year-old biracial daughter, and he has been sharing the good times he spends with her on social media.

30-year-old actor Chet Hanks, son of the Academy Award-winning star Tom Hanks and his second wife, actress Rita Wilson, became a father four years ago, and he has tried to follow the example of his parents to be the best father to his child.

Even though he had his troubled years battling addiction, he has come clean and much of it has to do with the arrival of his daughter Michaiah, shared with his former girlfriend Tiffany Miles, which gave him a new perspective and focus.

In recent days, Chet has taken to his social media a couple of times to give his fans and followers a glimpse of the lovely and fun relationship he has with Michaiah, and he looks like an adorable father to his little girl.

Though due to the COVID-19 pandemic the father and daughter have had to mostly stay indoors, Chet and Michaiah recently enjoyed a walk together in the open, as Chet shared in his Instagram Stories.

In the since-deleted clip, Chet could be seen with his daughter sitting on his shoulders with trees and cable lines in the background, the two strolling around on a sunny day.

Chet was wearing a white t-shirt, a black cap, and sunglasses, and Michaiah, who was all smiles as she rode her father, wore a pair of cute leggings with watermelon prints and a light green dress.

HIS PARENTS’ SUPPORT

Chet has been open about how becoming a father was key to his process of becoming sober, something he was already working on when he learned his girlfriend was pregnant, which gave him the extra motivation he needed.

But Chet also has his famous parents to thank for having never given up on him during the most difficult part of his journey, and he credits their love and support in playing a decisive role in his sobriety.

"They couldn't be more supportive. Every step of the way… They've always been there for me and I'm really lucky," Chet, the older son of Hanks and Wilson, told ET in 2018.

THEY LOVE BEING GRANDPARENTS

After leaving behind his dark years, Chet really came to appreciate the great parents he is lucky to have, and now he is happy to be in a position to see them as grandparents to his daughter.

As Chet also told ET, he was really close to his grandparents growing up, and he is delighted for his Michaiah to have the same experience.

According to him, Hanks and Wilson are so taken by their little granddaughter that they very often offer to babysit her.
