Check Out a Few Facts about Chris De'Sean Lee Also Known as 'Kaleb' from 'Legacies'

The actor has become one of the most talented young artists from a recent generation of actors. Although he never had formal training he made a big jump to musical theatre and has not stopped since.

With only 25 years of age, Chris De'Sean Lee is not only a great actor that is starting to become familiar on several TV shows, but he is also a talented singer, dancer, and musician who made his way through musical theater and is making his own music today.

The fierce vampire, Kaleb, in the CW’s series, “Legacies,” jump-started his career by playing the dual roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the Broadway musical “Hamilton,” which opened in Chicago in 2017. After auditioning through a video, directors from the show were impressed by Lee’s abilities.

Right after his unexpected musical theater experience, Lee went on to try for a television career, and he has been meeting with fame since. His steps towards success have been made steady and certain.

Lee was born from a 17-year-old single mom -with whom he holds a close relationship- on September 19, 1994, in Augusta, Georgia. When he was 4 years old, his mother moved with him to Atlanta where she raised him, and later his brother as well. Lee attended The McCallie School, where he started to participate in the school’s plays only for fun.

He ended up liking it so much that he decided to pursue a career in musical theatre at Belmont University. At the time he was studying his third year, he auditioned for “Hamilton” and was cast for one of the major roles in the show. The success he had led him to follow his next dreams on TV.

TOWARDS FAME

His career in television has also been on the rise. He played Tommy Turner in “Empire”, and has been a recurring actor as Hannibal in the drama series “The Chi.” More recently he became a regular in “Legacies” where he plays the vampire, Kaleb.

Other TV appearances include shows like "S.W.A.T", and "Whose line is it anyway?" and we will not be surprised to see him in a new show soon. At the same time, the actor has also been forging his way in a musical career by writing and composing his own music.

In 2018, he released his first EP called “In My Feelings” and has also released two other singles "Adios" and "Intruder Albert", and a debut album called “1000.” His music may be found through almost any music streaming platform.
