In the feature, the 54-year-old also spoke about how parenthood changed his life and vision for his homes. He explained that with starting a family came the need to implement more colors and collections into his home, to make it interesting for the kids.

However, shortly after welcoming Ford, he realized that he wanted to live less, which prompted him to make some changes. Murphy, whose two previous homes had celebrity connections, decided to make a change with his third abode.

The Spanish-style estate in Los Angeles, which was featured on the magazine's cover, has no Hollywood connection. For his new home, the producer purchased a run-down property and called on celebrity interior designer Stephen Shadley to bring his vision to life.

At the time of the renovation, he also got a home in New York City with a Zen-monastic style and then began repairs on the property. Both homes boast of neural, muted colors with bright and airy living spaces.

Murphy and Miller walked down the aisle in July 2012 a few months before their now-7-year-old son was born, while 4-year-old Ford joined the family two years later.

Baby Griffin is the last of the clan, and all three kids were born via surrogate. A big congratulations to the doting parents!
