'I like to Move It' Award-Winning DJ Erick Morillo Dies at 49 — Here Is What We Know

Popular DJ Erick Morillo was found dead at a Miami Beach on Monday. This comes only a few weeks after he was arrested for sexual assault.

Award-winning DJ Erick Morillo was found dead at a Miami Beach according to TMZ. He was 49. On Monday, the police were called to Morillo's residence where he was found dead.

Although the cause of his death is yet to be determined, officials reportedly revealed there was no sign of foul play.

Morillo's death comes only a few weeks after he was arrested in Miami for sexual battery in an alleged attack that happened last December.

According to the victim, she went along with Morillo to his place after they had both finished DJing at a party. She noted that he made sexual advances towards her but she refused. However, she alleged that she woke up naked with Morillo standing close to her. He was also nude.

Morillo denied all allegations and was set to appear in court on Friday, September 4.

Officials report that Morillo and the female DJ were hired to work at a private party after which they went to his house with another unidentified woman.

Following the alleged rape, the victim said she was in pain and ended up calling 911 to report the sexual assault. She was then taken to a rape-treatment facility where they ran some tests.

The results of the test would later come back positive for Morillo's DNA. However, Morillo denied all allegations and was set to appear in court on Friday, September 4.

Morillo, who is of Colombian American descent, came into the spotlight after the release of his hit track, "I Like To Move It".

He then went on to win the DJ Awards' "Best House DJ" and "Best International DJ" titles three times. Following the news of his death, tributes have poured in from his fans and loved ones. Without a doubt, he will be greatly missed!
