FOREVER ALIVE IN SPIRIT
Strahan took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking tribute to his beloved father, Gene, the man who showed him the world and made him what he is today.
He started out by calling his father his hero and expressing how hard it is to cope with the reality of his death. Yet, he finds solace in believing that his spirit lives on through him even though his physical body has perished.
Everything that Strahan has ever accomplished in life, it was to make his big man proud. He went on to share that the very thought gives him peace, but he will continue to push himself to be better because he knows his father is watching from above.
Strahan's emotional post comes days after GMA paid tribute to his late father.
REMINDER TO KEEP LOVED ONES CLOSE
While Strahan knows that nobody is perfect, his father was perfect to him and he will forever be grateful to have known his love and guidance. Continuing his emotional post, he wrote:
"Without him, I'm not sure where I’d be but I know I wouldn't have anything close to the life I have now. Love you dad and I'm honored to be your son!!"
With that, he concluded his post by reminding people to hug their parents, children, and significant other. He also advised that one should always let their loved ones know how they feel. He wrote:
"Let them know how you feel and don't take it for granted that they automatically know that you love them."
