Marques Houston Proudly Shares a Photo of His Dad Walking with Him on His Wedding Day

Singer and actor Marques Houston shared an epic photo of his father, Michael Houston walking him down the aisle during his wedding ceremony to his beautiful bride, Miya Dickey.

Marques Houston recently tied the knot with his wife Miya Dickey in a small private ceremony and there was no one better to walk him down the aisle than his dad, Michael. The singer posted a snap of the iconic moment and wrote:

"It was an honor and privilege to have my father @blkwuud walk with me down the aisle... I am your little twin, and I'm so happy and proud to be your son!"

In his caption, Houston admitted that he knew the idea of his dad walking him down the aisle was a little odd and untraditional, but those who knew him knew he liked being a little bit different.

He added that anyone could be a dad but being a father included so many things. He thanked Michael for raising him, encouraging him, and being by his side through all his successes and failures.

Houston's fans were swept off their feet by the heartfelt caption coupled with the sizzling hot photo of Michael rocking his fabulous gray beard and a black tux while walking beside his equally handsome son in a white tux. They truly were twins.

Houston and Dickey are spending their honeymoon in Santa Barbara as opposed to their dream destination.

Houston's mother, Carolyn, passed away when he was young. Always keeping her in his memory, the singer posted a throwback photo of his mom late in 2019, remembering his childhood memories from his first prom while he was in pre-school.

Although Carolyn was not there to see her son get married, Dickey, the singer, and his family made sure to make the day as special as it could be.

The pair reportedly exchanged vows in California at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona. Of his big day, the 29-year-old singer said to People:

"I was so nervous that I was actually shaking, but everything felt perfect when I saw Miya walk down the aisle..."

The sweet story was well worth it. His 19-year-old bride looked beyond stunning in her custom Jomo Patterson wedding gown that had a dazzling lace figure-hugging bodice.

The small and intimate wedding ceremony only had very few and close family and friends in attendance. According to the singer, it was better than they could have ever expected.

The former "Sister, Sister" actor and his wife are also reportedly Jehovah's Witnesses and met in 2018 through a mutual friend at a Jehovah's Witnesses convention. They did not start dating until she was legal and five months after dating, Houston popped the question in March 2019.

Houston and Dickey are spending their honeymoon in Santa Barbara as opposed to their dream destination in Mexico due to the pandemic restrictions.

Although they have received backlash on social media for their age difference, these two lovebirds have chosen to operate in love and positivity, focusing only on the future that they have together as husband and wife.

There is no doubt that Marques's dad, Michael, will be there to support them every step of the way.
