Brad Paisley & His Wife Kimberly Announce Plans to Donate 1 Million Meals across the Country

Brad Paisley and wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, have sought to assist senior citizens in Nashville by delivering groceries during the coronavirus.

Senior citizens are the most vulnerable to succumb to the virus. In a video shared on his Instagram page, Paisley said that they don’t need to be outdoors during these trying times.

The initiative aims to deliver a week’s worth of groceries to the elderly from their grocery shop, The Store, which provides free food to the needy. Deliveries are focused on some of America's metropolitan spaces.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

The Paisley’s posted a video on the singer’s Instagram page, further detailing why and how they plan to help the most vulnerable and worst-hit by the pandemic. The pair said:

“We are on a mission to help those struggling with hunger and food insecurity. And during the pandemic it's been a real crisis."

Kimberly Williams-Paisley added that because of the coronavirus, a lot of people who may have not needed food assistance are now in need of it. This is one of the purposes why the initiative was established.

FIGHTING HUNGER IN THE COUNTRY

Called the Million Meal Donation Tour, the Paisley’s have pledged to donate one million healthy meals. The Tour will be visiting food banks in major cities like Nashville.

Since operating, the Store delivers more than 300 bags a week in Nashville.

The Tour is in partnership with frozen meals supplier, Tiller and Hatch, and nonprofit organization, Feeding America. The singer also implored citizens to get involved by lending a hand by volunteering to the cause.

ADDRESSING FOOD INSECURITY

Paisley and his wife opened The Store with Belmont University. The Tour also offers a respectful and dignified shopping experience similar to The Store.

Based in Nashville, The Store was operational while the virus was spreading. According to him, The Store's opening happened at the right time, and he called it something that was meant to be.

RUNNING LIKE A WELL OILED MACHINE

Since operating, The Store has delivered more than 300 bags a week in Nashville. The packages are delivered by more than 30 volunteers leaving some of the groceries on the curb.

Paisley has produced country hits that have seen him win multiple awards in various local music awards shows.

The Store also received assistance in packing bags from individuals in the hospitality and music industry that have yet to return to work.
