During her pregnancy, Shamari was on bed rest for two and a half months as the mother-of-two suffered some complications.
In 2017, Ronnie, 52, and Shamari, 40, announced that they were expecting twins. Two months after the surprising announcement, the couple welcomed their bundles of joy on July 14, 2017.
The twins clocked one the following year and the talented couple went all out with a mega birthday party with friends and family for their little one's first birthday.
The new mom shared pictures that captured special moments from their babies' party on her Instagram and she captioned her post writing:
“Happy 1st Birthday to my babies @DeVoeTwins, Mommy and Daddy love the both of you dearly! ❤️??❤️?? 7/14/17 #DeVoeTwins.”
After their twins' arrival, the couple starred on the famous reality show "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." During an episode, Shamari spoke about her bisexuality and her open marriage with Ronnie.
Likewise, during an interview with the DeVoes, the couple spoke about their marital journey and obstacles and how they went from an open marriage to becoming marriage ambassadors coaching other young couples.
Shamari also spoke about how they ended up on the iconic show "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," saying they initially reached out to her while pregnant but they declined due to her pregnancy status.
During her pregnancy, Shamari was on bed rest for two and a half months as the mother-of-two suffered some complications throughout her pregnancy. At the time, Shamari revealed that she had a feeling something was wrong and had to convince her doctor to check her cervix.
Shamari further explained that her son Ronald was not growing as fast as Roman. Her cervix also started to open and they had to keep pressure off of it.
Before their debut on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," the New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe rapper kept his family on a low profile. DeVoe still actively performs but he has not released a studio album as a part of either group since 2017.
