Watch Carrie Underwood Sing 'Waiting All Day for Sunday Night' for 'Sunday Night Football'
Carrie Underwood proudly sings the theme for "Sunday Night Football," "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night." The country star was announced to headline the show in August.
As NBC's "Sunday Night Football" returned for its eighth season, fans had the pleasure of listening to Carrie underwood perform the theme song.
As seen in a YouTube video, Underwood's magical voice was undeniable as she performed a reimagined version of the song, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

The singer started on a powerful note as she donned a lovely ensemble, an elegant silver top, and black leather pants. Her trademark blonde tresses were styled to the side, and she accessorized with black statement earrings.
"SNF" switched to the theme song "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" in 2006 but changed it to "Oh, Sunday Night" in 2016.
For Underwood, this is her eighth year performing the theme song for "SNF." She made her debut as the headline for the show in 2013 after singers Pink and Faith Hill and has since returned every season.
In an exclusive video where she gave fans a peek at the music video's behind-the-scenes, she expressed her gratitude for returning. In her words:
"We all want to make each year feel special and unique. More than anything, everybody's just grateful that we get to do this."
The 37-year-old also explained that the ongoing pandemic gave producers a new perspective and how better they can integrate fans and players.
"SNF" switched to the theme song "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" in 2006 but changed it to "Oh, Sunday Night" in 2016 and then "Game On" in 2018. The hit song then returned in 2019 and has remained ever since.
It was first announced that Underwood would be headlining the show's opening on August 26, and the "Jesus Take The Wheel" crooner took to her Instagram to share the news.
Alongside a reimagined version of the theme song, the NBC show incorporated other changes, including a prohibition of cheerleaders and extras in the studio.
Underwood's "SNF" open comes weeks after she released the tracklist for her upcoming Christmas album, "My Gift." The project, which is the singer's first-ever Christmas album, features some classic holiday songs like "Silent Night" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."
However, the highlight of the album is a special rendition of "Little Drummer Boy" that features her son Isaiah, 5. There is also a new tune written and performed by John Legend. The album is scheduled for release on September 25.
