The 72nd edition of the annual Emmy Awards was held on Sunday. The event featured many surprises, including a surprise reunion from "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow.

Aniston, who was nominated for her role in the series, "The Morning Show," assisted Jimmy Kimmel in presenting an award during the early hours of the show.

After being told she had to be present at home for her category, Aniston rushed back home. Moments before her category, Kimmel proceeded to check in on the actress.

In response, Aniston noted that she barely made it back but was ready for the outstanding lead actress in a drama category. By this time, she had changed from the sleek black dress she wore at Kimmy's to a pink robe.

Kimmel then noticed that Aniston was with her "Friends" co-star Courtney Cox. The duo were later joined by Lisa Kudrow and Jason Bateman, who also appeared on the show.

Before she went off the screen, Aniston applauded Kimmel's presenting skills at the event, which was held virtually for the first time amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aniston has continued to keep fans entertained over the years.

Aniston and Kimmel have been longtime friends, with her frequently appearing on his late-night talk show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

They are also known to be vacation buddies. The duo was in Cancun together for the New Year celebration alongside Bateman and Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney.

That trip came two years after they vacationed on the French Polynesian island of Tahiti for Courtney Cox's birthday celebration.

The "Friends" reunion is a tease for an even bigger full cast reunion, which is unscripted. Filming was postponed following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While speaking about the reunion last month, Aniston stated that the postponement was sad for her, but she looked forward to starting filming when it's safe. She also added that the COVID-19 pandemic had given them more time to make the show more exciting and fun.

Though Aniston might have been nominated for a major category, the 51-year-old actress did not allow that stop her from having a self-care moment right before the Emmys.
