Former politician and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has found a younger version of himself in his 22-year-old son, Joseph Baena, who enjoys bodybuilding just like his dad.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, an actor best known for his role as the iconic Terminator, has seemingly passed on his knack for hardcore bodybuilding to his 22-year-old son, Joseph Baena. Recently, the young fitness enthusiast took to his Instagram story to share his love for bodybuilding. He wrote on a photo:

“We love some good deadlifting hands.”

The snap was a look at his large muscular palms littered with calluses, proving that he had been hard at work in the gym. He also posted a photo of him lifting quite an impressive stack of weights while dressed in skimpy black shorts and a yellow t-shirt.

Baena bared it all for another photo in which he was shirtless and clad in his short shorts. He was suspended mid-lift as he worked with a pull-up bar.

Another shot came afterward, showing him doing another body lifting technique. The undeniable bulk of his muscles proved just how far he would go with his love for bodybuilding.

Unsurprisingly, Schwarzenegger and his lookalike son are often photographed together. The father and son share a tight-knit relationship and undoubtedly get to bond over their love for fitness.

Baena’s Instagram is littered with a lot more of such photos. Many show him engaging in incredibly intense workouts and prove that he is not a man who skips out on his gym days.

Late in August, the fitness enthusiast shared a video of himself working out in the gym as usual. It gave his followers a clear view of just how large and well-built his physique was as he showed off his excellent back squat form. He captioned:

“Happy with the improvements I’ve made in the last couple months! Legs getting thicker and stronger. Let keep it going!”

True to his caption, Baena’s legs were indeed as thick as cinderblocks as he did his squatting reps with the barbell sitting on his shoulders.

The 22-year-old really was a striking copy of his famous dad. In a September gym post, the actor’s son pleasantly surprised his father’s fans when he recreated Schwarzenegger’s iconic pose: one hand one hip and the other curled up to show off his biceps.

On July 30, when the actor turned 73, the doting son took to Instagram and shared a celebratory birthday post in honor of his dad, showing them working out together.

Although Baena and his father have become very open about their father-son relationship, it was not always so. Baena remained his father’s secret for many years as he was born through an affair between Schwarzenegger and Mildred Baena, a housemaid in his home.

Baena reportedly did not know who his father was until he was an adult. Years later, after moving from what would have been an unpleasant period, he is now a proud graduate of Pepperdine University and is loving his life in the gym and beyond.
