Mekhi Phifer Posts a Rare Photo with His Son While Spending Quality Father-Son Time
In a rare new photo, actor Mekhi Phifer enjoyed some quality bonding time with his look-alike youngest son, Mekhi Thira Phifer Jr., 12, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Oni Souratha.
Talented actor Mekhi Phifer, 45, is the proud father of two handsome boys from his previous relationships. Unfortunately, his busy schedule means he does not get to spend as much time as he would love to with them.
Recently, the father of two got to spend some quality bonding time with his youngest son, Mekhi Thira Phifer Jr., and he took to his Instagram page to share the adorable father-son moment with his fans.

In the photo shared on his Instagram page, the 45-year-old actor looks relaxed as he poses in an all-black outfit with a pair of red sneakers while holding a cigar.
Phifer's look-alike son is seated across the table from his father and can be spotted wearing a black hooded top with matching black pants and a pair of white sneakers. He shared the picture alongside the caption:
"The coolout aftermath of the slick and very hilarious screening of my brother @innyclemons #sneakerheads on #netflix premiering tonight."
The "ER" star rarely shares photos with his boys and fans were surprised by how much he has grown. On October 30, 2007, Phifer welcomed his second son, Mekhi Thira, with his ex-girlfriend Oni Souratha.
Apart from Mekhi Thira, Phifer also has a son, Omikaye, who he shares with his ex-wife, actress Malinda Williams. The former couple tied the knot in 1999 and later got divorced in 2003.
About a year into his marriage to Barnes, Phifer filed for bankruptcy after accruing a debt profile of over $1.3 million.
Even though he rarely shares pictures of his sons on his social media, Phifer is very proud of his sons and has been very vocal about his fatherhood experience over the years.
During a 2014 appearance on "Today," Phifer opened up about his parenting experience and claimed his role in the blockbuster movie, "Divergent" was the first time his first son, Omikaye, got excited about his acting career. In his words:
"(He) was really excited. It was the first thing he's ever been excited about in my career ever! ... Now I'm cool, finally."
Meanwhile, the "Divergent" star is currently married to Reshelet Barnes. The lovebirds exchanged vows in 2013 during a very intimate ceremony at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.
About a year into his marriage to Barnes, Phifer filed for bankruptcy after accruing a debt profile of over $1.3 million. The debt comprised over $1.2 million in back taxes, $50,000 in legal bills, and $4,500 in child support.
At the time, Phifer listed his assets to be worth a measly $67,000. His belongings included a leather bed, firearms (including one shotgun and two 9mm pistols), and a Segway worth $1,500.
Thankfully, the actor seems to have pulled through that particularly challenging period of his life and is now enjoying a new lease on life with his wife and his two handsome sons.
