Nia Long Stuns in Silver Sequin Gown with Sons at 'Michael' Premiere — Photos
Dressed in full Hollywood glamour, the veteran actress showed up to a major film premiere with her two grown sons by her side, and the family portrait she posted days later got fans talking fast.
On April 20, 2026, Nia Long attended the "Michael" Los Angeles Premiere at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles alongside her sons Massai Zhivago Dorsey II and Kez Sunday Udoka.
Four days later, she shared a photo of the three of them together on Instagram, and the comment section quickly filled up with fans debating one thing in particular: who do these young men actually look like?

A Silver Gown and Two Sharply Dressed Sons
Nia attended the red carpet in a strapless, floor-length column gown heavily embellished with silver sequins and metallic beadwork. A vertical striped pattern of shimmering detail ran throughout, and a defined waistband gave the silhouette a structured, elegant shape.
She accessorized with sparkling drop earrings and a matching diamond bracelet on her left wrist. Her hair fell in a sleek middle part, and she finished the look with a bold red lip.

Her sons were just as sharp. Kez, the younger of the two, wore a classic navy-blue single-breasted suit with a crisp white dress shirt and a matching navy silk tie featuring a subtle crest. His hair was styled in a well-defined afro, complementing the clean, traditional tailoring of the ensemble.
Massiah, her eldest, went a slightly different route in a slim-fit black suit. He skipped the tie and left his collar open for a more relaxed but still polished look, adding a silver ring on his right hand as his one finishing touch.

On Instagram, mother and sons can be seen posing in an outdoor walkway. In the caption, the actress wrote, "My loves @massaidorsey @kezlong_ ❤️."
What Fans Said About the Photo
The image drew a wide range of reactions, and the one topic that dominated was the family resemblance.
"That baby looks just like Udoka....chileeeee I know she can't take it lol 😂😂😂😂😂" one commenter wrote in a Shade Room post, referencing Kez's father, Ime Udoka.

Another took a different view, adding "They both look just like her but in different ways 💙."
Some fans were more decisive. "The youngest look just like his dad," one person stated plainly. Another added, "They didn't take after her. The west African genes won."

But there were plenty who saw Nia's influence in both boys.
Meanwhile, a few comments had nothing to do with the resemblance debate at all. "Didn't even know she has Children. Beautiful! 💕💕" one fan wrote.
On another post, several netizens kept it equally simple with comments such as, "Omg they are tall and handsome."
Not every reaction was purely complimentary. One person aimed at grooming choices, questioning, "Is there a reason why yall celebrities sons don't comb their hair and groom it to look neat and nice to be respectful? That is so weird and uncouth what is going on with parenting boys to be well groomed and neat gentlemen nowadays [sic]."
Others drowned that out with straightforward admiration. "😍 so handsome," one person wrote. Another added, "😍🔥😍 such a strong 💪🏾 portrait..I see a Goddess with young men kings 👑👑. PERIODT!!!! [sic]"
Two Sons, Two Stories
Nia's sons come from two different chapters of her life. She welcomed Massai in November 2000 with her ex-fiancé, Massai Z. Dorsey. Eleven years later, in November 2011, she and then-fiancé Ime welcomed Kez. She was 41 years old at the time.
The "Fatal Affair" actress has spoken openly over the years about having a child at that age and what raising these boys has meant to her. Furthermore, in a 2023 interview, she reflected on having open conversations with her boys.
To her, there's a balance between protecting kids and preparing them for the world. "I've made plenty of mistakes as a mother. I've learned about myself through my parenting," she said.
Ultimately, her approach in this case is transparency.
"I also know that the world is tough. If you prepare your boys for that, they can assert themselves in difficult situations without seeming like spoiled brats but like young men who are not afraid to lead the way and are gentlemen and respectful of women," she said, adding that respect for women had become a big priority.
Nia has also been deliberate about giving her sons a financial foundation. At the American Black Film Festival in 2024, she shared during a panel discussion that she started saving for her children before she even became a mother.
"I took $3,000 and I just put [it] in this account. I was like, 'I'm never touching that.' And it allowed me to get my son through NYU without any student loans," she said.
She also revealed that Massai Zhivago Dorsey II is heading toward a law career, and had a characteristically candid take on the next chapter. "Anybody in here looking for a young lawyer [or] attorney, he's going to be a good one," she said. "He needs a job to pay me back."
But Nia's kids weren't the only ones who shone during the promotions of "Michael." Prince and Bigi Jackson attended the world premiere in Berlin on Friday, April 10, wearing suits that channeled their late father's signature aesthetic. But the night's biggest talking point wasn't just who showed up.... it was who didn't.
Scroll to the end to see the boys at the premiere!
Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24, both wore black single-breasted suits for the occasion. Prince's look featured a red shirt underneath, while Bigi went with a crisp white collared shirt.
But the detail that really caught everyone's attention was the accessories.
Both brothers wore gold crown decals on their suit jackets and armbands, a direct nod to their father's look. And rather than a plain armband, theirs featured a photo of Michael Jackson's feet mid-iconic dance move.
Michael wore armbands as a symbol of his commitment to helping children in need. His sons' version turned that gesture into something personal, carrying an image of him doing what he did best.
The premiere was for the new biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, starring Jaafar Jackson, who plays the King of Pop, Juliano Valdi, and Colman Domingo.
Fans watching from afar had a lot to say about the brothers' appearance, and most of the attention landed on Bigi.
Comments poured in on social media. One person wrote, "Bigi looks just like MJ." Another added, "Ok now this one looks like him when he was a teenager. Wow ❤️ [sic]."
The resemblance comments kept coming. "Blanket really looks like his daddy he has the same eyes and look 👀 it's really disturbing ❤️❤️❤️ [sic]," wrote one fan, while another noted simply, "Blanket just stand like michael lol [sic]."
Others were just as struck: "Blanket looks a lot like Michael, especially the eyes," and "Omg Blanket is Michael all over again. Big Wow!!! [sic]"
But once the praise settled, people started noticing who wasn't there. "How about Paris?" one commenter asked. Another echoed, "Where is Paris?!!!"
Her absence has a possible explanation, and she gave it herself months before the premiere. Back in September 2025, Paris Jackson posted a series of videos to her Instagram Stories addressing the film directly.
She explained that while the creators will produce whatever they choose, she remained silent until then because she realized many fans were looking forward to the project. The 28-year-old added:
"The film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in a fantasy, and they're gonna be happy with it."
But her core issue was with how these types of movies present themselves as truth.
"The thing about these biopics is it's Hollywood. It's fantasy land — it's not real. But it's sold to you as real and a lot of sugar-coated [...]," Paris continued. "There's a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn't really fly with me. I don't really like dishonesty."
She wrapped up her statement with a clear message for fans:
"Just go watch it, go enjoy it, do whatever — leave me out of it."
One netizen who commented on the premiere's photos had this to say: "I love how Paris is criticizing a film that takes place years before she was born."
