Warwick Davis Spotted with Mystery Girlfriend Two Years After Wife's Tragic Death
Warwick Davis has found love again — and the woman by his side is finally coming into focus.
A black-tie evening at London's Royal Festival Hall. Champagne flutes catching the light. And Warwick Davis, one of Britain's most beloved actors, seated between two people — one a familiar face from the film world, and one a striking dark-haired woman the world is only just beginning to know.

The woman, pictured seated next to Warwick, dressed elegantly in black with a bold gold necklace and a glass of champagne in hand, is the person he has quietly, tenderly, nicknamed "Sponge" — his mystery girlfriend of over a year.
Sources close to the couple confirmed to the Daily Mail that the pair have been together for more than twelve months and are "happier than ever". And those who know them say the relationship has been a lifeline for the 56-year-old "Harry Potter" and "Willow" star.

The Loss That Changed Everything
To understand what this moment means, you have to go back to March 2024. That was when Warwick's wife of over three decades, Samantha Davis, suffered a cardiac arrest and died, aged just 53.

The couple met on the set of the 1988 fantasy film "Willow" — though Warwick had actually first encountered Samantha even earlier, on the set of David Bowie's "Labyrinth", where he had "admired her from afar", according to his autobiography.
He never forgot her. When their paths crossed again on "Willow", he made sure they wouldn't drift apart a second time.

Together they raised two children, Annabelle, now 28, and Harrison, now 23. However, their journey together was also marked by profound heartbreak — they lost two sons, George and Lloyd, both in infancy. Through it all, Samantha, whom Warwick described as "the greatest love" of his life and his "soul mate", stood beside the actor.
"She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life. She had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes," he said after her death. Her loss was, by every account, devastating.

'Sponge' Steps Into the Light
At last year's BAFTA ceremony, Warwick used his acceptance speech upon receiving the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship to acknowledge a new presence in his life — without quite revealing who she was.
"Special mention should go to Sponge — you know who you are," he told the audience. "Thank you for showing me that life can still have meaning, and for helping me to laugh and to love again."

The room didn't know who "Sponge" was. But she was there, watching. When later asked on "The Jonathan Ross Show" to reveal her identity, Warwick answered in characteristic fashion:
"I can reveal, sticking with the Harry Potter theme — Sponge is indeed She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named."

Who Is She?
The mystery held — until recently. Sources describe Sponge as someone with no interest in celebrity life.
"She has no interest in being a public figure," one insider said. "Although she has accompanied Warwick to events, she does not court the limelight. She is so proud of Warwick and loves to be by his side, but she will stand back and allow him to be in the spotlight."

She has reportedly become close with Annabelle and Harrison, and was present alongside them when Warwick accepted his OBE at Windsor Castle earlier this month — an honour awarded for services to drama and charity.
"All anyone wanted was to see Warwick happy," the source added. "And he has that with his girlfriend."

As Amomama readers may recall, the beloved British actor stepped into one of the most storied rooms in the country on Wednesday and walked out with one of its highest honours. The photos from the occasion are waiting for you at the end of this article.
On 11 March 2026, Warwick Davis was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) at a star-studded investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle.
William, Prince of Wales, 43, presided over the occasion, pinning the OBE to the "Harry Potter" and "Star Wars" actor's chest in recognition of his more than four decades of service to drama and charity.
However, one moment from the ceremony particularly stood out. Rather than standing above Warwick, as the honour was conferred, Prince William bent down so that the two men were eye to eye.
Speaking after the event, the actor said the Prince of Wales' gesture meant a great deal to him. "It was lovely the way he came down to my level instead of standing and looking down at me," he revealed.
Warwick — who was born with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, a rare form of dwarfism — featured in King Charles III's New Year's Honours list for 2026, alongside Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo.
The Wednesday ceremony also saw footballer Alex Greenwood awarded an MBE, with honours ranging from Knighthoods and Damehoods to CBEs, OBEs, and MBEs.
For the actor, the recognition was richly deserved. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he has become one of Britain's most recognisable screen presences, with iconic roles across the "Harry Potter" and "Star Wars" franchises.
He previously received the BAFTA Fellowship, and at the time, dedicated the award to his late wife, Samantha Davis, who passed away in 2024. The actor shared, "This is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I've been in 'Star Wars.'"
As for Wednesday's ceremony, Warwick did not face this milestone alone. He was joined at Windsor Castle by his daughter and son, as well as two additional companions.
One of those mystery guests is believed to be his new girlfriend, affectionately nicknamed Sponge — a woman Warwick has credited with helping him to love again following his wife's passing.
However, online, some netizens were critical of the speed of his romantic recovery. One reader wrote, "Moved on to someone else in a hot minute couldn't have loved his wife that much [sic]."
Another added, "It didn't take him long to get over his heartbreak," while a third remarked, "He didn't hang about did he, his wife will be turning in her grave [sic]."
Still, not everyone saw it the same way. One commenter offered a more considered take, typing, "Men in general don't do well alone if they have had a wife that took care of everything on the home front. Stats show that they are really fast to find someone as they don't cope."
The ceremony itself also drew its share of admiration. "Well earned, he's a fine actor and skilful performer. I don't follow the royals but I do appreciate Prince William's amiability. Those photos are quite moving," one netizen observed.
Others couldn't help but notice Prince William's gesture, with one asking, "Is that etiquette when speaking to a little person? Crouch down to their level?" Another put it rather memorably: "This must be the first time a future King has gone down on one knee to a commoner."
Warwick left Windsor Castle on Wednesday with his OBE, his children by his side, and a mystery guest close behind — a blue-suited figure with a medal on his chest and, by all accounts, a new chapter quietly beginning.

A beaming Warwick Davis poses on the grounds of Windsor Castle following his investiture on 11 March 2026, his OBE medal catching the light against his royal blue suit as the castle's iconic Round Tower rises behind him. The broad smile on his face says everything — this was a day four decades in the making, honouring a career that has taken him from a galaxy far, far away to the corridors of Hogwarts and beyond.

Warwick Davis stands on the castle grounds with a satisfied smile, the ancient stonework of Windsor's Round Tower looming large behind him — a striking image of a man very much at ease with the extraordinary. Named on King Charles III's New Year's Honours list for 2026 alongside Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo, the 56-year-old actor was recognised on the day for his outstanding services to both drama and charity.

Warwick Davis is flanked by his son, Harrison Davis, 23, and daughter, Annabelle Davis, 28, on the grounds of Windsor Castle on 11 March 2026, all three grinning broadly for the camera with the castle's ancient stone walls stretching out behind them. It is a family portrait with real weight to it — the children who stood by their father through grief were also there to witness one of the proudest moments of his career.

A younger Warwick Davis beams on the red carpet at the world premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" on 7 July 2011, his arm around a then-young Annabelle while his late wife Samantha smiles warmly beside them, Harrison front and centre in a dapper grey suit. It is a snapshot of a family at the peak of a glittering career — and a poignant reminder of what the actor carried with him to Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

Warwick and Samantha Davis link arms on the red carpet at the British Academy Children's Awards in London, England, on 27 November 2011, both smiling broadly in front of the iconic golden BAFTA mask — a fitting backdrop for a couple who were no strangers to the industry's most prestigious stages. When Warwick received the BAFTA Fellowship years later, it was Samantha he chose to dedicate it to, describing it as "the best thing that's ever happened to me."
