Patricia Southall and Emmitt Smith married on April 22, 2000 and share three children, sons Emmitt James Smith IV, 18, and Elijah Alexander James Smith, 10, and daughter Skylar Smith, about to be 17.

The couple also has kids from previous relationships. While Southall has a daughter, Jasmine Page Lawrence, 24, from her marriage to actor Martin Lawrence, Smith has a daughter, Rheagen Smith, 21, from his ex-girlfriend, Hope Wilson.

MEET SKYLAR SMITH

The beautiful Skylar has a presence on social media. She has accounts on social media platforms, Snapchat, TikTok, and VSCO. She also has an Instagram account where she has just over 8,000 followers.

Skylar enjoys posting about some of her beautiful moments on her Instagram page. On April 14, she shared three beautiful pictures of herself in a white sleeveless top and jeans, flaunting her beautiful black hair and smiling sweetly as she posed on the street.

SKYLAR MISSES THE “GOOD OLE” DAYS

Though the beautiful teenager looked happy in the photos, she told her fans in the post's caption not to be fooled by her smile because she misses the "good ole" days.

The 49-year-old said she began dealing with trust issues and self-worth as her husband was dancing with a younger person.

Skylar referred to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting people’s movement as it spread throughout the world, forcing businesses and social places to shut down and people to stay indoors.

THE GLITTER BABY

The beautiful Skylar shared new photos of herself in August, showing her in a sheer purple crop top and jean shorts which she matched with white sneakers. In the caption to the post, Skylar tagged herself as the:

“glitter bby!✨????.”

In the pictures, the teenager posed standing on grass and in front of plants. She also wore long black hair and expressed herself to the fullest with her poses.

SKYLAR LOVES DADDY

Skylar celebrated her dad on 2019’s Father’s Day, describing him as the most hardworking, loving, and compassionate man she knows.

The teenage beauty said she is lucky to have the former NFL star as her father and urged him to enjoy his day. Accompanying Skylar’s post was a picture of her and her father, where she sat on his lap.

SOUTHALL AND SMITH SEPARATE

In August, Skylar’s parents made the shocking announcement that they were splitting after twenty years of marriage. The announcement came just months after they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

In the announcement which Southall shared on her Instagram page, the couple said they would continue moving forward with love and compassion for each other as friends and co-parents to their kids.

The announcement came as a major shock to many of the former couple’s fans who always saw them as a definition of Black couple goals, especially after celebrating each other on social media on their 18th wedding anniversary.

SOUTHALL EXPLAINS THE SPLIT

Southall hinted at the reason for their separation during an appearance on “Dr. Phil” when she said she found herself losing her ex-husband after he was cast on “Dancing With the Stars.”

The 49-year-old said she began dealing with trust issues and self-worth as her husband was dancing with a younger person.

Southall added that despite being happy for his success on the show, she got angrier and more resentful because she was not fulfilling her dreams, which caused friction between them.

The “Treasure You” founder and spokesperson emphasized that Cheryl Burke, Smith's dance partner on DWTS, never acted disrespectfully during the show.

While fans are disappointed at Southall and Smith’s separation, they remain hopeful that the couple remains good friends afterward.
