In 2012, at 16 years old, Townsend was the number one junior in the world, and instead of heading to the US Open, she was benched because she was not in good shape.

However, she did not stop fighting as she made it to the quarters and singles and won the title in doubles. As the video progressed, the athlete spoke about her 2015 success at the French Open and then her 2019 win against the third-best player in the world.

Townsend also opened up about how she was looking forward to being a mother. She revealed that all through her life and career, all the pessimistic remarks she heard gave her reasons to fight hard and served as motivation to keep playing.

The video showed the athlete flaunting her baby bump on the court. She added that the pregnancy was not any different as she would keep fighting and prove the world wrong once again.

The athlete revealed that her due date is in March and updated her Instagram bio to "mom to be." The identity of the child's father is unknown as Townsend has successfully kept her relationship under wraps.

While pregnant, she took part in the 2020 US Open and competed in both the singles and doubles tournaments. She played alongside Asia Muhammad but did not make it past the first round after they advanced to the semi-final in doubles.
