"Monster's Ball" star Halle Berry used her powerful voice to shine a light on domestic violence, sharing an Instagram post featuring a photo of herself wearing a cropped jacket with the word "WOMAN" across the chest. She wrote in the caption:

"This #FitnessFriday speaks to not only our strength but our resilience, and our journey to heal."

A VOICE TO COMBAT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Berry revealed that she and Respin, a digital health and wellness community she created, are using their voices and resources to amplify awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The actress, who has 6.6 million followers on the image-sharing site, received an outpouring of praise and support. In three days, the post has racked up more than 100,000 likes.

Berry, who turned 54 last August, is admired for her ageless beauty. But fans adore her more for her social consciousness and her willingness to lend her voice to combat domestic violence.

AN INSPIRING ACTRESS

One fan gushed, "You're inspiring!" adding clapping hands emojis. Another praised the actress for being a sweet person. Others dropped heart, fire, and praying emojis in the comments section.

In the photo, Berry covers her head with a cropped hoodie as she stares outside a glass window. She let her golden locks cover the side of her face. Her toned abs are likewise visible.

As a young child, the award-winning actress saw her mother suffer from domestic abuse.

BERRY'S PLEA AND ENCOURAGEMENT

The mother of two also shared in the caption a quote that encourages survivors of domestic abuse to come forward and share their stories to give others the courage to do the same.

Berry also stated a heartbreaking fact: 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical violence in a romantic relationship. These statistics, according to her, mean that many people are truly being affected by this type of abuse.

She encouraged fans to reach out to Jenesse Center Inc. if they or someone they know are experiencing domestic abuse. The organization is committed to helping survivors of domestic violence.

HER LONG TIME ADVOCACY

Berry encouraged those who are experiencing domestic abuse or those who know of anyone suffering the same to call the organization's hotline available 24/7 at 1-800-479-7328; as well as the National Domestic Violence Hotline 24/7 at 1-800-799-SAFE.⁣

An advocate against domestic abuse for years now, Berry often joins fundraisers and events organized by Jenesse to support victims. Her passion for the cause is deep-rooted.

As a young child, the award-winning actress saw her mother suffer from domestic abuse. In 2015, she opened up about her experience witnessing her mother get beaten at home.

Berry is not only dedicating herself to the cause against domestic violence. She also recently expressed her support for the LGBTQ+ community during Spirit Day.

However, the world-renowned actress earlier faced backlash after reports emerged that she would be playing a transgender character in a movie. She pulled out of the film amid the outrage.
