Here's How Parents-to-Be Patrick Mahomes & Brittany Matthews Revealed Gender of Their 1st Baby

NFL star Patrick Mahomes, currently a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his fiancée Brittany Matthews took to social media to reveal the sex of their upcoming baby.

For Mahomes, the last couple of years have been nothing short of amazing as he helped his team win the Super Bowl in 2019 and proposed to his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews, earlier this year.

As Today reported, the 25-year-old quarterback proposed to Matthews, 25, after the Super Bowl ring ceremony that was held on September 1 at Arrowhead Stadium.

PATRICK MAHOMES’ PROPOSAL

Mahomes got down on one knee in one of the suites inside the stadium, which had a beautiful arrangement of candles and flowers. Apart from that, there was a big, glowing sign that read, “will you marry me.”

As per the engagement ring, Mahomes gave his fiancée a huge emerald cut diamond that is probably quite expensive. Fortunately, money is not a problem for the NFL star, especially after signing a 10-year contract for reportedly $503 million.

According to Patrick Mahomes, popping the question to Matthews made him more nervous than playing the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. He explained:

“You don't think it's going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you've been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, your heart's racing.”

It is important to point out that Matthews and Mahomes began dating when they were still studying at Whitehouse High School in Texas. Their fairytale love story started when he was a sophomore, and she was a junior.

The sex of the baby was revealed by the couple’s two dogs.

GENDER REVEAL

On September 29, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first child! The quarterback confessed that he didn’t care whether their kid was a boy or a girl; he just wanted to have a healthy baby.

Less than a month later, Mahomes and Matthews held a very unusual gender reveal in which their two dogs were the main protagonists.

On October 21, the expectant parents shared a short video on social media showing some details of the party, including that some of their friends and family were part of the celebration through a Zoom call.

The sex of the baby was revealed by the couple’s two dogs as they walked along a white carpet with pink paint on their paws, meaning that Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews are expecting a baby girl!
