Patrick Mahomes' Fiancée Brittany Matthews Proudly Show off Her Baby Bump in New Photos
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his longtime partner and wife-to-be are about to become parents for the first time, and she has taken to social media to flaunt her tiny baby bump.
25-year-old professional American football player Patrick Mahomes II and his fiancée, 25-year-old Brittany Matthews, are expecting their first child together, as the couple proudly revealed back in September 2020.
However incipient, Matthew’s baby bump is starting to show, and the mother-to-be is so excited about it that she rushed to social media to flaunt it to her fans and followers.
Patrick Mahomes II (L) and Brittany Matthews attend The Maxim Big Game Experience at The Fairmont on February 02, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.
On October 12, Matthews shared a slideshow of images on her Instagram account on which she can be seen standing sideways to the camera as she cradles her early pregnant belly, as well as posing with some of her friends.
“Bumpin’ & vibin’ with my people” Matthews captioned the post, adding a mention to the brand that made the knee-long deep blue skirt she is wearing in the snapshots, Balance Athletica.
Delighted by the sight, several of Matthew’s fans took to the comments section of the post to send the expecting couple their good wishes and congratulations and to compliment on her looks.
“You look beautiful, there is no doubt that you and Patrick will be excellent parents,” wrote a user. “Cutest little bump ever!!!” wrote another person. “The bump is so cute,” added a third user.
A WELCOMED SURPRISE
Mahomes and Matthews have been together since high school, but it was only the last September when he finally asked her to marry, with an engagement diamond ring worth at least $100,000.
But only weeks after the two announced their engagement, Mahomes and Matthews had to return to social media to give their fans another major update, sharing their pregnancy news on September 29.
“Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding,” Matthews captioned a photo of herself holding a print from an ultrasound of her future baby as Mahomes hugs her from behind.
"We did things a little out of order, but everything happens for a reason," Matthews told People magazine, and she called both her engagement and her pregnancy “blessings.”
COVID-19 FEARS
Amid the happiness that the soon-to-be parents are experiencing, they also went through a scary and difficult moment when Mahomes’ teammate Jordan Ta’amu tested positive for COVID-19, making Mahomes worry about having been exposed to the novel coronavirus.
As a safety measure to protect his pregnant wife and his unborn child, Mahomes and Matthews slept in different bedrooms and practiced social distancing at home when he came home for the weekend after practice.
