Watching Derek Hough perform has been one of the most exciting things that happened to “Dancing With the Stars” this season. Recently, he and his girlfriend Hayley Erbert shared some sneak peeks of their performance on the show.

Earlier this week, dancer Derek Hough and his girlfriend Hayley Erbert shared behind-the-scenes footage of their performance on “Dancing With the Stars” on their YouTube page. The performance was the first for Hough in three years.

Initially a competitor, Hough took a break from the show. However, he came back this year for its 29th season. In the video, Hough and Erbert shared their entire practice routine by going through line after line of their performance. It was truly epic.

The entire footage showed Hough and Erbert moving from their rehearsal room to the “Dancing With the Stars” set, where they practiced even more. Speaking on how the rehearsals took a toll on them, Hough said at a point:

“What you don’t see is that we have ice packs in both our pants. That’s both our groins. It was kind of weird.”

Along with the practice footage, the video also showed Hough and Erbert having a massage. Evidently, this routine was a tad challenging to master. At the dress rehearsal, however, the pair appeared to have bumped their heads. As Hough explained to the camera, they hit their heads at the same spot and blistered a bit.

Hough and Erbert performed a paso doble to “Uccen,” a song by Taalbi Brothers. The couple showed no rust as they fed off each other’s energy.

Hough and Erbert’s performance will most likely be the most hyped of this season on “Dancing With the Stars.” While Hough was away from the show, he returned this season to be a judge in place of Len Goodman.

Goodman reportedly couldn’t travel from England due to the lockdown. Although the performance was pretty surprising, it definitely lived up to its billing. Hough and Erbert showed their chemistry, and they did wonderfully well.

Hough and Erbert performed a paso doble to “Uccen,” a song by Taalbi Brothers. The couple showed no rust as they fed off each other’s energy. After the dance, Hough called the performance a memorable one.

He explained that he was happy to be back on the “Dancing With the Stars” stage. The professional dancer added that it was even better for him cause he shared the stage with the woman he loves.

It’s unclear when Hough will hit the dance floor next. However, his performance on Monday shows that he still has his dancing shoes intact and there is surely more for fans where that came from.
