See Which Celebrities Congratulated Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton on Their Engagement
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are officially engaged, and those close to the beloved couple couldn't be happier that they've taken the next step in their relationship.
The music industry's sweetest couple are finally engaged after five years of dating, and their famous friends didn't hesitate to congratulate them with tributes on social media.
Shelton and Stefani broke the news of their engagement on Tuesday, and while some thought it was "bananas" for happening, it left others fairly speechless. Nonetheless, the happy messages streamed in.
Sharing the same picture of the happy event on social media, Stefani held up her hand excitedly as she kissed her new fiance. Shelton got romantic in his announcement, as he wrote:
"Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life. I love you. I heard a YES!"
FAMOUS FRIENDS REACT
The couple's fellow long-running coaches on "The Voice" enthusiastically congratulated them with responses to the love birds' social media announcements.
While Kelly Clarkson called the news "the best," John Legend managed a few more words, congratulating them on the "amazing news." The new season of "The Voice" recently premiered, and Stefani rejoined the rest of the coaches for the fifth time.
Jimmy Fallon shared his congratulations, as did talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who used a line from Stefani's song "Hollaback Girl" to convey her message and comically wrote:
“This shot is bananas. Congratulations!”
BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Stefani reclaimed her seat on "The Voice" for its current and 19th season. It's the 51-year-old's 5th season working as a coach on the show, and it also happens to be where she met Shelton back in 2015.
The couple went through rough relationship breakups at the same time, and they found understanding and support in each other. By the end of 2015, their relationship had turned romantic as they nursed each other's hearts back to health.
THE TRADITIONAL ROUTE
Leading up to asking the question, Blake Shelton took a traditional approached and decided to ask Stefani's father's permission before he popped the long-awaited question at their Oklahoma home.
According to reports, Shelton had the ring custom-designed, and their engagement also came at a time when they just moved into the home they purchased last week while experiencing the new season of "The Voice" together as well.
