Marissa Jaret Winokur, most popular for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway musical "Hairspray," showed off her 50-pound weight loss in a photo she uploaded on Instagram recently.

On October 24, Marissa Jaret Winokur flaunted her slimmer self in a new bikini picture she shared on Instagram, where she has more than 69,000 followers.

Winokur sported an American flag-colored bikini that displayed her recent 50-pound weight loss. She paired the bikini with a blue-and-red plaid shirt and accessorized herself with a pom-pom headband.

A month ago, the actress opened up about her dramatic weight loss in an Instagram post. After realizing she was high-risk for serious novel coronavirus complications, Winokur said she became more resolved to get healthy.

The cervical cancer survivor then started to work out over Zoom with Keith Anthony, a trainer based in Los Angeles. Winokur said she also made changes to her diet.

Along with the before-and-after photos of herself, the actress continued: "6 months later I have lost almost 50 pounds. We have been here before."

At first, Winokur confessed that she was scared to share pictures on her social media accounts. However, in the end, she posted the photos to inspire others to take care of themselves amid the current global crisis.

Winokur also shared that she has not had asthma issues and that she found out, workouts help her relieve stress.

In her candid post, Winokur, who was a contestant on the hit dance competition series "Dancing With the Stars," also admitted that losing weight does not make her immune to the novel coronavirus disease.

However, Winokur added, getting herself as healthy as possible to fight the COVID-19 illness at least makes her feel like she is accomplishing something.

In months, Winokur also shared that she has not had asthma issues and that workouts have helped her relieve stress. The award-winning star continued:

"The hour or two a day I focus on working out, my sadness turns to productive energy."

Winokur is a doting mother to her 12-year-old son Zev, who was born in July 2008. Winokur shares her son with her husband, Judah Miller. The couple tied the knot in October 2006.

In 1995, Winokur made her Broadway debut as a replacement for Jan in the revival of "Grease." The star was one of the original six co-hosts of "The Talk." She left the talk show in 2011.

Winokur was diagnosed with cervical cancer during the early development stages of "Hairspray." Without revealing her condition to anybody aside from her immediate family, Winokur underwent treatment for the disease and eventually recuperated.
