Monday’s episode wasn’t a double elimination round as originally planned due to the departure of one of the show’s contestants. However, it was still packed with emotion with reality star Kaitlyn Bristowe crying to her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev during rehearsal.
Jeannie Mai, who had to withdraw from the competition due to a throat abscess, appeared remotely on the show later.
She complained to him that she was struggling after receiving low scores the week before. Singer Nelly dedicated his rumba to his late sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Donahue, 31, who was diagnosed with leukemia on March 29, 2001, and sadly died in 2005.

Jeannie Mai, who had to withdraw from the competition due to a throat abscess, appeared remotely on the show later. She spoke emotionally from her hospital room before getting emergency surgery.
After her operation, a doctor told her that if she had waited another day, her throat would have closed. DWTS judges, the show’s host Tyra Banks, and the other teams couldn’t help but cry after hearing the news.
AJ McLean and his partner Cheryl Burke were the last performers of the evening by dancing the Rumba. He opened up about his battle with alcohol and drugs; honestly revealing how he’d been in and out of rehab for over 19 years.
Ultimately, Chrishell Stause and her dance partner Gleb Savchenko were the ones who were eliminated. They were on DWTS for eight weeks before landing in the bottom two with Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten.
