Kalea Marie Cephus' Birth Was Surrounded by Drama – Meet Offset's Daughter

Rapper Offset's daughter, Kalea Marie Cephus, recently stunned in photoshoots alongside her half-siblings, her famous father, and his wife Cardi B. Kalea's birth was surrounded by controversy, which Offset addressed in his music. It appears they have moved past it.

Offset and Cardi B are not only successful in their music careers, but they also have a solid marriage and family life. Together, the power couple has two children: Kulture, 3, and Wave, seven months. Offset also has three older children from previous relationships: Kalea, 7; Jordan, 12; and Kody, 7.

The "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker has made an effort to include all of Offset's children in her recent photoshoot, saying she doesn't want them to feel left out. As it turned out, Kalea was a natural in front of the camera as she posed for photos with her half-siblings.

Kalea's Father Claimed Not to Know About Her Birth

Kalea's arrival into the world was shrouded in controversy because Offset was unaware that he was her father. In an interview with The Breakfast Club in 2019, Offset said:

"Those were the hardest moments of my life."

To make matters even more complicated, Kalea's father also claimed at that time that he didn't even know the identity of Kalea's mother. But Kalea's mom was reportedly none other than rapper Shya L'Amour, whose real name is Nicole Marie Algarin.

Offset's shocking confession made Shya upset. On Instagram, she accused the hip-hop star of ignoring Kalea and not knowing about her pregnancy and birth, even though she had tried to tell him in the past.

Kalea's mom remained quiet for nine months of her pregnancy and the first year of the little girl's life but felt she had to speak out because she did not want Kalea to see or hear the musician's statements in the future.

Shya also wanted to avoid being seen by her own daughter as a promiscuous woman who did not know her partner's real identity. However, things are going well now that the rap artist has acknowledged Kalea as his child.

In 2020, the rapper filed the necessary documents to allow Kalea to carry his last name and to share custody with her mother. Shya also asked the girl's father for child support, which he gladly agreed to do.

Kalea's Father Tried to Develop a Better Relationship with Her

As time passed, Kalea's relationship with her father seemed more and more affectionate. Eventually, Kalea's mother revealed that the girl was in love with her dad. In a 2019 interview with TMZ, Shya remarked:

"She loves him, they're really good now, he has stepped up, and he has been around as of lately to show her that affection she needs, that parental love. A mother can't do that for a father."

Kalea and her famous father always had a strong bond and never ran out of activities to do together. One memorable moment they shared was when they went shopping for school supplies and clothes that Kalea needed for the new school year.

The rapper and Kalea went shopping for fashionable clothing at Trico Field in New York City. He said he loves fashion and wanted to pass this appreciation on to his daughter. He also mentioned that he used to enjoy dressing well when he was in school.

Kalea's Father Gifted Her with a Bunch of Siblings

Kalea has four siblings from her father's side. Jordan Cephus is the oldest at 12 years old and was born to a woman named Justine Watson. Jordan was not publicly known until 2017 when Justine sued Kaela's dad for child support.

Offset's second son is Kody Cephus, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Oriel Jamie. Offset spends a lot of time with his seven-year-old son Kody, but he and Oriel have had issues with how Offset raised Kody in the past.

After getting engaged to Cardi B, Oriel called out Offset on Snapchat for not introducing Cardi to his son and held out hope that Kody would at least receive an invitation to the wedding. Cardi and Offset married in September 2017.

Kulture is Offset's daughter with Cardi B. Her name is tattooed on her dad's face, while the names of his other children are tattooed elsewhere on his body.

Cardi B announced her second pregnancy with Offset at the BET Awards while performing with Migos. She later posted a maternity photo of herself cradling her baby bump, and her husband also shared a picture of the news. The couple welcomed their second child, Wave, in September 2021.
