'Days of Our Lives' Alum Jen Lilley Adopts Son Jeffrey after 846 Days in Foster Care

Christmas came early for the Hallmark Channel star Jen Lilley and her family. They are now officially a family of five with the arrival of their son, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey is 2-years-old, and now officially a part of Jen Lilley's family. A joyous occasion, the actress just had to share it with their fans on social media. After 846 days, the long-awaited day finally came.

No more days in foster care for Jeffrey. His legal status now reflects how the 36-year-old actress Jen Lilley and her husband Jason Wayne had always felt about the 2-year-old.

THE CELEBRATION POST

Marking the special occasion with a celebratory post, Lilley posted a slideshow of pictures of the happy family as she announced that "Christmas came early" for them. Having received the perfect gift this year, Lilly gushed:

"I got the world’s BEST present under my tree. Words cannot express how much I love this little one."

WHAT MAKES THE ADOPTION EXTRA SPECIAL

Lilley and her husband are parents to a daughter Evangeline, and they also have a 4-year-old son Kayden. After 984 days in foster care, Kayden legally became theirs in June last year.

Like Lilley, they used their talents to help others get the care and help they so desperately need.

Kayden and Jeffrey are half-brothers, so the adoption of both ensured that they would grow up together and with a couple that sees them as their own. Excited that their reunion, Lilley added:

"Jeffrey is the kindest, sweetest, most nurturing, and adorable little boy anyone could ever hope for. He’s the perfect brother, the perfect yes man, and he has the best heart."

SHE LOVES RAISING AWARENESS ON THE TOPIC

Lilley, who played Theresa Donovan on the NBC soap "Days of our Lives," recently also used her talents to help raise awareness and funds in aid of those in foster care.

A singer as well, Lilley made a music video to her song "On The Street Where You Live," and it featured winners from the charitable singing competition she held in support of Foster Care Awareness Month. Like Lilley, they used their talents to help others get the care and help they so desperately need.

In related soap opera news, "Days of our Lives" will have a familiar face back on television screens. Alison Sweeney became a staple on the soap for many years, but she left the show in 2014.

She played the role of Sami Brady in the daytime soap, and her return marks an emotional twist in her storyline. As an integral part of the soap's history, they are delighted to have her character return.
