Fans Disagree with Savannah Guthrie as She Praises Rockefeller Christmas Tree — See Reactions
The traditional Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree arrived at the plaza this month and television personality Savannah Guthrie was one of the celebrities to share a photo of it and praise it. However, some of her fans didn’t agree with her outlook.
On Saturday, the Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree arrived at the plaza to usher in the holiday season. The giant Norway tree was erected at the New York City landmark weeks ahead of Christmas Day.
The huge 75ft tall tree had to be lifted into position by a crane. It’s going to be decorated with bright lights and assorted ornaments in the coming weeks in preparation for the annual celebration.
Early in December 2020, a ceremony will be held at night where the tree will be switched on. The tree arrived from Oneonta, New York state, with a serious police escort leading its path.
The tree appeared to have some branches missing from its large frame. Some of the branches were also scrunched up and looked a bit deformed, probably from being tied up while traveling.
The Rockefeller Center shared an image of the tree on Twitter, showing it being hoisted up in place. On Thursday, “Today” show host, Savannah Guthrie shared a photo of the tree on Instagram and praised it, writing:
“Hold your head high, Rock Center Christmas tree. You’re beautiful.”
Guthrie’s sentiments weren’t reciprocated by some of her fans who took to the comments section of her post to make their thoughts heard. One person wasn’t sure if the star was referencing the same tree, questioning:
"You looking at the same tree I'm seeing?”
A second person added a sad emoticon face and disagreed with the television personality writing: “Not really.” Someone else also didn’t see the tree the same way as Guthrie and noted that the star's statement was fake news.
Last Christmas Day, Savannah Guthrie celebrated the special holiday with the help of her children.
On Thursday afternoon, the tree underwent some sprucing up. The less-than-lush tree in Midtown Manhattan had some crew members working on adding extensions to it to fill it up more.
Taking to Instagram once again, the star shared a photo of her daughter Vale, 6, and her little son Charles "Charley" Max, 4, dressed in their finest holiday outfits. The siblings had a plate with two carrots and two cookies for Santa and his reindeer.
At the beginning of this month, the television host shared an adorable picture of herself cuddling up with the children. The image was taken on the family’s couch by Feldman, according to his wife.
The star was celebrating getting to finally be at home with her family after being away for work for the past week. Guthrie had her work cut out for her as she had been covering the recent elections.
