DJ and music producer Garrett Falls Lockhart, better known as DJ i_o passed away at the age of 30, leaving his fans in shock.

On November 23, 2020 techno music fans were stunned by the news that Garrett Falls Lockhart, best known as DJ i_o had passed away.

Lockhart was just 30, and a rising star in EDM, and had been promoting his new single, "Castles In The Sky." As of yet, no cause of death has been released, and the circumstances surrounding it are a mystery.

THE SHOCKING NEWS

The news broke through the DJ's own Twitter account. The statement was brief, announcing Lockhart's passing, and the date he died, but gave no information as to where, or how. The statement added:

"This extremely talented spirit taught us that even if noting matters, you can still lead with love. Garrett’s truth and soul lives on through the music he shared. Rest in peace Garrett, we love you.”

BREAKOUT ARTIST

Lockhart was a rising star in the world of EDM, and had been named one of EDM Tunes' breakout talents for 2018, and confirmed his status at his debut at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami in 2019.

Lockhart hadn't been performing live due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he did one last live show in Orlando, Florida's club Celine on November 13, 2020.

FAME INTERRUPTED

The pandemic interrupted what promised to be a successful nationwide-tour, and had started with sold-out concerts in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Hollywood, Boston, and Las Vegas.

Nevertheless, Lockhart had continued producing music and releasing it online to his fan's delight, as was the case of "Castles In The Sky."

HIDDEN MESSAGES?

Fans have been looking back over the last two months and scrutinizing every post Lockhart shared for hidden messages or hints of what led to his death. In one post he wrote:

"Am i ok? is anyone ok? i haven’t been ok for a while.”

Sadly, there are no answers, and Lockhart's cause of death is yet to be announced, either by authorities or his representatives. Thousands of fans have shared their grief at the loss of the brilliant young musician.
