Charlize Theron Adopted 2 Black Kids, Including a Transgender Daughter — inside Her Motherhood
Actress Charlize Theron is a mother to two beautiful adopted daughters. In the article below, we look at how she began her journey into motherhood and how things are going for the trio.
Charlize Theron adopted her very first child shortly before production began for the film “Mad Max: Fury Road.” On March 4, 2020, she shared a throwback photo of herself cuddling her baby girl.
In the image, she appeared to be in character as she looked quite grimy in the car she was sitting in. She had on black and white sunglasses and sported a buzz cut while cradling her daughter who lay in her lap.

Filming for the movie actually began in the summer of 2012. A few months before that, Theron managed to finalize the adoption of her first child who is known as Jackson who's now 8.
The little girl was actually born a boy and is transgender. Earlier in 2020, the actress was interviewed by W magazine’s "Five Things" podcast where she opened up about how she felt the first time she saw Jackson.
The star confessed how she saw the little boy through a window. She had just gotten out of a car and saw somebody holding the little Black boy, and she recalled how her heart felt like it had jumped out of her body.
In 2015, Theron added a new child in her life, August, who is her second Black daughter. When the children were much younger, the actress didn’t show their faces that much on social media.
In the past, the “Bombshell” actress confirmed that she knew she wanted to adopt one day. She’s such a rock star that she’s parenting the two little children as a single parent!
In May 2018, she spoke to People magazine where she confessed that adoption was definitely not a second option for her. She made it abundantly clear that adoption was her first choice.
The star was born in South Africa but she now lives in Los Angeles. Her children were both adopted from the US, however, that hadn’t been her plan from the onset.
Theron filed for adoption in every country where she was allowed to do so as a single parent. The “Monster” star wanted her children to come to her from wherever they were in the world.
Jackson being transgender threw some people off who felt Theron was damaging the child. However, the actress has been unwavering and unapologetic about her daughter’s true identity.
She’s been raising the child as a girl and the photographs she shares prove it. On social media, fans will see how Jackson, who was adopted when he was 9 days old, and her sister, wear matching dresses and sport long, braided hair.
