VERZUZ BATTLE WITH SWV

The speculation comes after Buruss shared on Instagram a 13-minute video of them inside a recording booth. In the video, Buruss took her fans to Harris, Tamika, and LaTocha’s discussion.

Burruss asked in the caption if Xscape should have a Verzuz battle with another R&B trio, SWV, whose members are Cheryl "Coko Clemons" Gamble, Tamara Johnson, and Leanne Lyons.

Formed in 1992, Xscape previously released three albums, which all went platinum. Many people loved the group because of their unique sound which was different from typical R&B singers.

THE GROUP'S NEW BRAND

Xscape had a reunion in 2017 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut single "Just Kickin’ It." Their first song catapulted them to stardom.

Before the band’s reunion, "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" producer Mona Scott-Young executive produced the group’s biopic through her company Monami Entertainment.

After the group disbanded in 1998, and Burruss went on a hiatus, Xscape was revived in 2018. The group rebranded to "Xscap3" which consists of Harris, Tamika, and La Tocha.

Recently, Harris gave her fans a blast from that past by sharing what transpired before she and the rest of the band members had gone separate ways. She opened up about their physical fights in the group.

Harris, who was pregnant around that time, shared that she had an altercation with Burruss. They got into a slap and fist fight. Buruss and LaTocha also fought in the past.
