Though fans loved Cardi’s outfit, her title as Billboard Woman of The Year was met with mixed reactions by many who thought the rapper did not deserve the honor.

Cardi did not have enough hit songs for the naysayers to get the honor, but for the rapper, her hit song “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion was all she needed to deserve Woman of The Year.

It came as a surprise that the song was not among the 2021 Grammy Awards’ nominated songs.

“WAP,” a song best known for its explicit lyrics celebrating female pleasure, became a huge success and ended up being No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.

While speaking to Billboard, Cardi explained that she wanted the song to be amazing and beautiful while keeping in mind that she could not afford to release a bad record.

With how good and successful “WAP” was, it came as a surprise that the song was not among the 2021 Grammy Awards’ nominated songs.

Following the release of Grammy’s nomination list, Cardi revealed that she did not submit the song to award shows because she is waiting for the release of her full album.

Cardi explained that she held off on submitting “WAP” because she believes her album is good and wants the project to be nominated in 2022.

Speaking about her upcoming album with Billboard, Cardi did not give many details but revealed that she has one very personal and deep track from the project. No doubt, fans can’t wait to hear this masterpiece!
