Tyler Perry's Ex-girlfriend Gelila Bekele Remembers the 1st Day of 2020 – See Snaps of When They Were Still Together

Filmmaker, Gelila Bekele, Tyler Perry's former partner, took to her Instagram account to share video footage of when they were still together.

Actor Tyler Perry's long-time girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, recently took to her Instagram story to reminisce on how she spent her New Year's day last year.

The footage shared showed Bekele having a lovely time on the beach, as she could be seen smiling uncontrollably at the camera. It was a happy memory for her.

The filmmaker had on a lovely flowy blue gown with white polka dots. Her beautiful and full hair stood out as the wind blew it sideways in a lovely motion. She was a beautiful sight to behold.

News of Perry and Bekele breaking up recently made the rounds when Perry himself took to social media to hint at the fact that he is now single.

Although they may not be together anymore, that doesn't stop them from being good friends to each other and great co-parents to their 6-year-old son.

Perry's revelation on Instagram came after he and Bekele's amicable split. Perry wrote alongside a mirror selfie showing him wearing workout clothes:

"This is what a midlife crisis looks like. I'm 51, single , and wondering what the next chapter in my life will look like."

Perry and Bekele, who is a model, activist, and documentary filmmaker, are believed to have been together for over ten years, and he has rarely talked about her in public.

Although Perry once answered a question about their relationship during an interview with T.I. on his show "ExpediTIously," when the host asked him why he is not married yet, "The Madea" franchise creator replied that he has someone wonderful in his life.

Perry also revealed that he and Bekele had decided that it is best to keep their son, Amman Tyler Perry, away from the public eye to protect him. Gelila Bekele had a humble childhood in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where her grandmother raised her.

In an interview with The Catwalk, she revealed that she had a very fun childhood that involved lots of tree climbing and drinking goat milk straight from the goat.

Bekele is very vocal about her opinions, and she uses her social media to spread her passion for her humanitarian and activism work.

Fans got a sweet glimpse into Bekele and Perry's relationship in 2017 when the latter made a comment about their romance to People.

He said that there is no one he would rather do life with or have a child with but her. He also told People in a more recent interview that his son brings him the most joy in the world.
