'Gilligan's Island' Star Bob Denver's Widow Dreama Remembers His Late Co-star Dawn Wells

Dreama Denver, the widow of late actor Bob Denver, reflected on the decades of friendship she shared with Dawn Wells, who died of COVID-19, in a recent interview.

Dawn Wells, who played the role of Mary Ann in the hit series, "Gilligan's Island," recently passed away from complications related to COVID-19 at the age of 82.

Her friend Dreama Denver and widow of former "Gilligan's Island" star Bob Denver recently remembered her in an interview where she reflected on their many memories together.

American actress Dreama joined the list of people to mourn her fellow actress, Wells, after her passing, and the former said she had nothing but sweet memories of the deceased.

Dreama and other members of "Gilligan's Island" became friends after she married Bob, who was a major part of the series. Of all the people she bonded with, Wells was a darling to her heart.

The duo got closer over the years and stayed friends after Bob's death in 2005. Dreama revealed that she and Wells regularly visited each other, and the late actress helped her with the Denver Foundation. The duo last saw each other in 2019.

Reflecting on their time together, Dreama said that her friendship with Wells was like that of two young girls. She revealed that they shared a room and would stay up all night, talking.

Her glittering career saw her feature in over a hundred shows and different movies.

Their time on the road together comprised Dreama's unforgettable memories of Wells. The duo was involved in a lot of public appearances after Dreama stepped in to replace her husband in his public appearances, following his death.

Speaking of how they stayed in touch, Dreama recalled their long calls on the phone and the exciting subjects they discussed, making everything so memorable for her.

During their time together, Dreama recalled that a significant aspect of Wells' life was her character Mary Ann which she played in "Gilligan's Island." Wells was reportedly very protective of her role and was grateful for it.

Wells was aware that her character was an inspiration to many young girls who drew hope from it. She put her all in the role and would not trade it for anything.

Dreama revealed that she last spoke to Wells on her 82nd birthday in October 2020 and they had planned to celebrate the end of 2020 just before her tragic passing.

Before her time in the series, Wells had a shot spell in pageantry where she represented Nevada in the Miss America pageant in 1959. Her glittering career saw her feature in over a hundred shows and different movies.

She is most remembered for her role as Mary Ann Summers, a stranded girl on an island in the hit series "Gilligan's Island." Her fans will remember her death and would keep her memory alive.
