Mother of 2-Week-Old Daughter Kicks Her Husband Out of the House

A woman kicked her husband out of the house because he refused to help with their two-week-old baby. Though she feels bad about her decision, Reddit users think she did the right thing.

A 28-year-old woman recently took to Reddit, asking users to share their thoughts and opinions about an issue that happened with her 30-year-old husband.

The woman started off by noting that she and her husband have been married for four years but only welcomed their first child, Hannah, two weeks ago.

The new mom explained that for the first four days after she got home from the hospital, her husband was great, often helping out with the baby.

However, on the fourth night, when Hannah started crying, the man refused to wake up and change the baby's diapers. Though he seemed asleep, the woman believed her husband was only pretending.

The next morning, she confronted her husband, but he said he had no memory of the baby crying as he was truly asleep. Still, the woman believed he was pretending.

Going further in her story, the woman explained that on the sixth day, her husband changed the baby's diapers once and played video games for the rest of the day, leaving her to take care of Hannah all day.

By the second week, her husband was still acting the same way, holding and changing the baby's diapers only a few times a day and leaving the woman to do the rest.

She noted that when she wakes him every night to get up and soothe the baby, her husband pretends not to hear her and continues fake sleeping.

The woman explained that she was still recovering from labor and is mostly exhausted from caring for the baby. Because of this, she got fed up with her husband's nonchalant attitude because they both planned the pregnancy.

One night, the woman angrily asked her husband to leave the house since he was not helping out with the baby. She explained that she could not handle seeing him sleeping when she was not even getting enough sleep.

She added that her husband seemed surprised by her outburst and attributed it to post-partum hormones. He, however, left the house and went to his parents'.

Although the woman believes she is justified, a part of her feels bad, and this makes her wonder if her husband is right about her reacting based on hormones.

Several users agreed that her hormones might indeed be a factor but maintained that kicking the man out was justified. According to them, birthing a human being takes a toll on the body, and the least she deserves is a helpful partner.
