Together with her husband Chandler Powell, Bindi Irwin, her mother Terrie Irwin, and brother Robert Irwin went on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" to share what their lives have been like recently.

Bindi's wedding was at the forefront of the conversation. Powell told host Kelly Clarkson about their unconventional honeymoon spent taking care of the Australia Zoo animals due to the lockdown restrictions.

WILD HONEYMOON

The newlyweds certainly had a wild honeymoon but not the most romantic one. Powell shared that after getting married on March 25, 2020, the world shut down, leaving them no other choice but to help out at the zoo. Powell said:

"So we got married and then our honeymoon was taking care of 1,200 animals with no guests coming in. So it was a wild time."

Powell and Bindi had their honeymoon at the Australia Zoo, where they first met while Bindi gave Powell a tour. The two also got engaged there, which made for a sentimental experience, if not anything else.

THE WEDDING

Bindi and Powell had to think on their feet with talks of lockdown restrictions threatening to spoil their plans to get married. The two ran down the aisle, missing the wedding restrictions by just a few hours.

Only five guests attended the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, but Bindi's brother Robert could give her away as they had planned. Bindi commented on her wedding, saying:

"We're just glad to be married and to be husband and wife while taking on this wild 2020 and new 2021."

Regardless of their honeymoon plans going out the window, Bindi's new husband still went above and beyond to ensure that their time together was memorable even if they didn't travel.

The University of Southern California graduate put together a surprise picnic for his 22-year-old wife in the spot that they were planning to get married. The conservationist was utterly blown away by her husband's effort.

TRAGIC LOSS OF STEVE

Bindi's special day was not without a few emotional moments. During the interview, Robert told Clarkson about the tears he shed walking his sister down the aisle as he thought of his late dad, Steve Irwin.

The legendary "Crocodile Hunter" was Bindi and Robert's dad and died in 2006 after being stung by sting-ray. On special occasions such as the wedding of his daughter, Steve is missed most by his family.

Bindi and Powell are now expanding their family as they are expecting their first child. For sure, there is nothing that will take the Irwins' happiness from them, including a pandemic.

Powell is now officially part of Australia's beloved zoo family. He has also joined Terrie, Robert, and Bindi at the Australian Zoo, where they are all working to take care of the animals.
