Ray J Dad-Shamed for Holding Daughter Melody in a Shop Maskless & without Shoes in Cold Weather

Ray J has been criticized on social media for taking his 2-year-old daughter Melody into a shop without a mask in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of changes into people's day-to-day lives, and taking precautions against contagion is one of them. Staying safe includes the use of masks for adults and children.

Singer Ray J posted a snap on Instagram of himself and his two-year-old daughter Melody which has social media up in arms, dad-shaming him for not taking care of his daughter as he should.

DAD-SHAMED

The trouble started when Ray posted a video of himself and Melody in an icecream parlor. In the clip, Ray was wearing a camouflage print face-mask, a black sweater, a hat, and acid-washed jeans.

He was holding little Melody, wearing knit pants and a hoodie, as they chanted "ice cream, ice cream, ice cream." In the caption, Ray talked about how much he misses his daughter, and he wasn't expecting the backlash.

Ray is currently in the throes of a divorce from Princess, who has requested full custody of their two children.

SHOELESS

His followers immediately picked up on the fact that although all the people in the store were wearing masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Melody wasn't. Despite the cold, the baby was also shoeless.

Instagram denizens immediately commented on Ray's post taking him to task over little Melody's shoeless state, and most particularly over the fact that she wasn't wearing a mask in a public pace.

Ray is currently in the throes of a divorce from Princess, who has requested full custody of their two children, Melody and her baby brother Epik. She is also demanding that Ray pay child support.

The marriage fell apart when Ray left the 8-month pregnant Princess and baby Melody in Las Vegas after an argument. The couple had driven to Las Vegas, and Princess could not fly in her condition.

LOSING RESPECT

Princess was devastated by Ray's attitude and separated from her husband of four years. Ray apologized publicly and admitted that he was wrong, but Princess was unforgiving. She said:

"I don’t respect you. I lost a lot of love for you and you’re not a protector. You’re not that. That’s important to me and you’re not that.”

Despite their bitterness over the dissolution of their marriage, the former couple sets everything aside when it comes to their children, and when Melody turned two, Princess and Ray J were there together, to celebrate with her.
