Tyler Perry’s tribute to movie icon Cicely Tyson was a touching montage collating some of her moments on and off movie sets, as well as her milestones.

Moviemaker Tyler Perry shared an emotional clip that included photos and videos of the late Cicely Tyson as a tribute to the fulfilling life she lived as a Hollywood legend.

The clip which pulled at thousands of hearts on Perry’s Instagram timeline also showed the beautiful relationship he and the late star had up until the time of her demise.

The video started with Tyson’s 96th birthday surprise, where she had been brought in a car with Perry, who led her up to where she was to be celebrated. The pair shared a hug before the montage shifted focus to earlier times.

Fans got to see images and clips of Tyson from the classic Hollywood times displaying her resonance and energy on the big screen. Perry is seen at a point describing her as a strong person after she playfully jabs him.

The montage also shifted to one of her recent award acceptance speeches, where she energetically thanked her fans. Towards the end, Tyson was filmed standing in front of Perry’s new studio.

With over 20,000 comments, fans and celebrities alike showed reverence, paying their last respects to Tyson by putting up heart emojis. Stars like Oprah Winfrey, Tika Sumpter, Stephanie Mills, and Tracee Ellis Ross also joined in the tributes.
