Tim Robbins, 62, Had Been Secretly Married to Gratiela Brancusi, 30, for over 3 Years

Actor Tim Robbins was secretly married to a woman half his age for three years before deciding to go their separate ways halfway through 2020. He filed for divorce early this year.

Tim Robbins, 62, and Gratiela Brancusi, 30, were first thought to be dating in February 2018. At the time, the actor was accompanied by Brancusi to the premiere of his show “Here and Now.”

“The Shawshank Redemption” and the young woman were seen together several times over the years. One of these occasions happened to be in December 2019 at a hockey game.

However, on February 1, 2017, Robbins had actually gotten secretly married to Brancusi when she was in her late 20s. According to “People,” the couple stayed together for only three years.

The publication discovered this from court documents that it obtained. According to the same court documents, the couple initially went their separate ways on July 1, 2020.

On January 25, 2021, in Los Angeles, Robbins officially filed for divorce from Brancusi. The filing’s court documents listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.

The marriage was the actor’s first and only one, and he didn’t have any children with his soon-to-be ex-wife. Besides Brancusi, the star once dated Susan Sarandon, 74, for 23 years.

The actors never married after meeting in 1988 on the set of “Bull Durham.” When they went their separate ways in 2009, the former couple had already had sons Jack, now-31, and Miles, now-28.

In October 2019, Robbins confessed that he was fully supportive of his sons going into the entertainment industry. However, he shared that it was hard for the boys as they had Oscar winners as parents.

In June 2017, the two famous actors reunited amicably eight years after their separation. They were seen dining with Jack and two other people at a restaurant in Venice, California.

The group was later spotted walking down the street together while Sarandon carried a dog. Their other son, with whom they also co-parent together, wasn’t spotted during the casual public outing.

Brancusi was born in Romania, and she attended school in the same country. After finishing her studies, she worked in public relations and event management but ended up changing careers.

According to “Distractify,” she now works as the director of marketing and communications for the nonprofit theater, The Actors Gang. Robbins happens to be the theater’s artistic director.
