Many fans questioned the legitimacy of the painting. Some explained that North's signature at the bottom of the artwork had been virtually edited.

The proud mom of 4 then took to her Instagram story to defend her daughter and her painting. She wrote that her daughter and her best friend had been taking art classes:

"My daughter and her best friend have been taking serious oil painting classes where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured."

She shared the North had been working hard to complete the piece, which took her several weeks. Kardashian had wanted to share her talents with everyone.

She called out the "grown adults" on social media and media outlets who questioned her daughter's painting abilities. She asked how dare they see a child being "awesome" and challenge them.

Romulus shared that the artworks were original, and each child had completed the whole piece themselves, from the "blank canvas," each using their own interpretation to finish it.
