Portia de Rossi recently opened up about the first time she saw her wife, television show host Ellen DeGeneres, and according to the actress, it was a case of love at first sight.
For People's first Love Issue, actress Portia de Rossi and her wife, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres sat down for an interview where they gave a glimpse into their 16-year relationship.
The former actress particularly recalled being taken by DeGeneres' charm and beauty the first time they met. At the time, the comedian was already very open about her sexuality, making a closeted de Rossi even more interested.

De Rossi would nurse a crush for DeGegeneres in the years that followed their first meeting. With the stars writing their love story, the two Hollywood stars eventually met again.
Making the most of her second chance, de Rossi confessed her feelings to DeGeneres, and shortly after, they started dating. However, it wasn't until they were pictured together at an award show after-party in 2005 that their relationship was made public.
De Rossi and eponymous show host DeGeneres got engaged after a few years of dating, and by 2008, the duo tied the knot. Ever since, their love has waxed stronger by the day.
de Rossi proved herself to be a strong support system for the talk show.
Speaking about their relationship, the former model and actress described their love as a once in a lifetime feeling, with DeGeneres saying their marriage feels like an easy rhythm.
DeGeneres also described her wife as her soulmate, while de Rossi added that their love story felt like destiny. From the couple's sit-down, one could tell that even after 12 years of marriage, the lovebirds are still very much madly in love with each other.
The Hollywood couple's burning love has also been evident over the years as they are never afraid to show affection to each other when spotted in public together.
In January, the two made headlines after they were spotted walking hand in hand while crossing a street. This came only shortly after DeGeneres recovered from a bad case of COVID-19.
Seeing that the two share such a strong bond, it comes as no surprise that the Australian-American businesswoman has been there for her partner even in the most challenging times.
